What motivated my choice:
- Midi in / out
- The 2 XLR preamp
- Multiple input and output jack
- The reputation of the brand

Usage:
Home-studio recording of guitar and voice. Using VST instruments.

Config:
- Windows XP
- Amd 64 3200 +
- 1 GB of RAM

I use no preamp or mixer. I plug my mic directly on the map.

UTILIZATION

Installation is no problem.
No conflict.
The general pattern is clear.

The manual is in English, but frankly, it does not take a pro engineer to use this card and get excellent results.

Or, basically, you just unpacking the box, you branches, t'instales, you record and it sounds live.

GETTING STARTED

The drivers are impeccable! There is an update on the site of Motu.

I use Cubase SX, Reason, Live, Wavelab.

Latencies are very low (I do not have numbers in front). By recording in 24 bit - 96 Khz it rolls so well that we forget what the word latency and recording four tracks at once.

OVERALL OPINION

I use it for four months.

What I like most is the sound quality. I have even just to get the roundness in the bass and treble clarity in (knowing that I use an SM-57, what I would get a Rode or Neuman!)

Before I used an M-Audio Audiophile USB. Suffice to say right away that it has nothing to do (it's not the same budget either).
The motu is far above in sound quality, latency, ...

The Ultralite is a simple to use interface with a quality that I did not expect to have on my demos.
View the reputation "pro" Motu, I was afraid of not knowing properly use the card. But everything is simple. The Cue Mix console pads mitigation ... it's a real treat.

I would do this choice.
