I was looking for a sound card to perform a digital input-output SPDIF, MIDI, at least 6 audio inputs and 8 outputs, all in 24 bits and 48 kHz, which fits well at the MAC, size 1 U and a reasonable price for recording, editing and mix.
In short, for a music production simple and not too expensive.
Recently, the manufacturers realize that the cards more than 1000 euros is not available and may be too teams for working in home studio. Thus merger of smaller modules and more "effective" much cheaper.
The choice of the ultralite has been plutt the meeting of this trend that I find more practical and less technical and Will Fidler to stay through the choice of the software used. The output of this card fell so good.
But Reason derrire, 768 M of RAM and processor that runs 800 million, we forget.
Too rich. We must remain prudent and use the applications separately. Samples of the sounds in Reason Performer running in sync via Rewire, Reason and the exit process if ncessaire, it works well. All dpend as the fawn you dial
The sound of the instrument taken voice go through pre-amp in FOCUSRITE symtriques and other records of the Previous or spdif jack.
If you have a computer system connected to a home cinma preamp, connect the 8 outputs with 6, 7 or 8 discrete channels for multichannel COST.
To connect a guitar, an XLR jack is high impdance front. Another is derrire.
Personally, I use the XLR front for a classic talkback.

3 months of use alone.
It is small and "box" though.
The sound is good enough for a little prod. This issue is so relative that I can not venture further. If you are a purist, low acute transient harmonics blablabla has to pay. Cher.
If you like the catch of his nomadic, with a handy map, when the same sound quality, right price and not too limited, it is probably the card for you.
Also, if you have thin fingers to turn the pots in faade, fine. Too small for any obviousness.
If you turn on MAC intel is compatible.
Otherwise, rflchissez what you want to do before you buy, that's all.
