No rack, possibility to attach a kind of foot.

But a pity thing only works in stereo, which means no more than 2 multi track ... (L / R).
In addition to tracks 3 and 4 are not assignable at L side (I do not understand why?) ...

In short, really really bad ...

UTILIZATION

Very simple configuration.
No driver, plug and it works (on a Mac anyway).
Never had a bug with the map (only with Cubase).

A compressor on the first two tracks (never used), a basic EQ types of mixer functions, what ...

SOUNDS

This is the good side of this thing!

Yamaha quality even at low cost! No breath, even at high level.
Very transparent preamp, do live recordings taken on the table are quite impressive!
Used to live instruments (bass, guitar, piano, etc ...) and the trombone with SM57, D112.

It is always better, but do not forget that I paid 200 E!

I am not using the EQ to save.

OVERALL OPINION

Used for more than 3 years. I use MOTU a friend from time to time (I know the model).

It's been three years that I want to change to buy a "real" but multi ... it is still there.
Why? Because ultimately I really have not had the need to record multitrack (except two projects I used MOTU) and for my project electro jazz rere it enough.
Sometimes I record jam sessions at home, by bringing the stereo out of the sound and adding one or two microphones here and there to fill out the sound. When recording in stereo, you learn at least the techniques of live!

With experience, I obviously do not have that choice, because I would take one more track, but by comparing what is comparable to 195 E, I have a mixing desk, sound card and Cubase ... The value for money is fun! Afterwards, as the title says, it depends on the use.

And if I have not changed is the need is not pressing too ....

The compressor is a little way but at this price ...
Plugged into USB the table takes the place of the PC sound card, which can already register on hearing what is played and no latency, which is rather nice ...

OVERALL OPINION

I've had 4 or 5 years, jai have other models from Yamaha ... more expensive but also more cumbersome, this one is very good for an amateur home studio use and fully carries out its role. It is enough for a lot of situations. The criticism I would have this table is the same formula as in the previous opinion, namely the party sound card could be better ... with Asio drivers downloadable from Yamaha was a latency of 10ms in normal and 8 in high bit better ... so even if it happens! the drivers are very stable cons.
ultimately a worthwhile investment when you start or you do not find useful material sharper. good value for money.

The Yamaha MW10 is an all in one solution for those starting off looking to get into the world of home digital recording. The MW10 has all the features you'd expect from an analog mixer, but also has a USB port to use this in tandem with your computer. With MW10, you even get a copy of Steinberg Cubase LE software to throw on your computer, as I believe Steinberg is owned by Yamaha. As far as the characteristics of the mixer go, it contains ten inputs and four microphone preamplifiers. The other channels have RCA and 1/4" connections, and 1/4" connections are also found on the first four channels with mic pres. The mixer also contains 1/4" monitor outputs, built in compression for channels one and two, a headphone jack and aux sends and returns. Each of the four mic preamps has a three band EQ, with the final two stereo channels having just a high and a low. They also each have an aux knob and a pan knob.

UTILIZATION

If you know a bit about the way analog mixers work, you'll be at ease here with the Yamaha MW10. Even if you don't, do a bit of research online about the basic features of a mixer, which is all that you will be finding on the MW10 anyway. I'd only recommend having the manual around if you're a beginner.

SOUNDS

While the of the microphone preamps on the Yamaha MW10 are nothing to write home about, they definitely don't sound bad for a product in this price range and with this much versatility. Again, the EQs aren't great but will do fine for getting simple equalization done. While of course you do wish that the board sounded fuller in general, I think you might be asking a bit much by doing so.

OVERALL OPINION

For the price, it doesn't get much better than the Yamaha MW10. Yamaha can afford to do this because they are the largest in the business, so you definitely want to take advantage of that. Especially considering the fact that a new one will also include a copy of Cubase LE, the Yamaha MW10 is a the perfect all in one solution to get you started with your new home studio.
