TopicPosted on 04/29/2017 at 16:47:38Issues with Asio drivers and Focusrite playback
As of yesterday I haven't been able to use Focusrite Scarlett 2i4 in DAW (Reaper) using Asio and Focusrites usb-driver. Also I cannot use Guitar Rig 5 because my guitar is connected through the 2i4 and when using the same focusrite driver I've been using for years it just doesn't work. What could have caused this because I didn't install any updates? Other people seem to have same problems with it on: https://forum.cockos.com/showthread.php?p=1838566
Would be nice to get a fix asap because currently I can't play my instrument... You can get it working just fine through like youtube or spotify but when you try to use the drivers in daw or in guitar rig 5 they just don't work.

I ran into the same problem as well. I'm using Studio One, with a 2i2 and 2i4 and my interfaces work fine until I try to open my DAW. It's super weird.

AVG/Avast users by any chance?
This issue has been plaguing many people over the weekend, most assuming it's a Focurite driver issue, just because most people using AVG/Avast use FR Scarlett Solo/2i2/2i4... I've seen reports of it happening on various DAWs with various USB ASIO interfaces from other well known brands. They all use AVG/Avast, and all work fine, once they uninstall AVG/Avast (AVG and Avast are the same company, by the way).
Not seen any problems with other AV users, BUT if you must use a free one, you may as well just use Microsoft Security Essentials... There is no such thing as a good, cheap/free AV.

Hi Tortillaboy,
Sorry to hear about the issues you've been experiencing and my slow response. We think we know what is causing this. Please see this article and uninstall whichever antivirus you have which is causing this.
