Scarlett 18i8, cannot record line input in Ableton Live Lite 8

Hi,

I am using the scarlett 18i8, the front panel is alright, but when i plugged my guitar through a preamp into a line input, I can hear it clearly through the monitor headphone, the mixer software (mixcontrol) detects the signal, but Ableton Live Lite 8 does not receive any signal.

What could be the problem here?

Did you find a solution to this? I'm having the same problem in Reaper.

Focusrite replied my email. (Once again, good support, good company.)

They realize it's a bug in the firmware, line input 5-8 cannot be recorded in Ableton Live Lite 8.
To my knowledge, same problem appears in Adobe Audition, Live 9 and Reaper.
However those input CAN be recorded on protools............

We will have to wait for a driver update, or get a mac... :(

This has been fixed in the latest version of Scarlett Mix Control, which can be downloaded from our website.

Please

- Install this update
- Restore Factory Defaults (from the ScMC menu)
- Save to Hardware (from the ScMC menu)
