It is mainly why I wanted to point out, if you are attached to your sound settings, etc. sounding guitar, and go your way well ableton does not meet our settings, I am picky about sound and I can not, why is there a filter that we just rot and its dynamics, it is light but very annoying at the same time (I disabled the filter ableton by keeping off of a car, but anyway in both If it's not terrible. to techno and other styles zik, maybe, but for distorted sounds, ca does not.

Ableton Live 7 is a solid software and worked great with my windows vista, which surprised me because vista has the tendency to make programs not work correctly and will bring crashes. I received my Ableton Live 7 for free with a purchase of a few products during a sale through Guitar Center. I wasn’t going to use this software at all because I already use so many softwares. So I decided to try it out and see how it works.

SUITABILITY/PERFORMANCE

Running it on my laptop which was a dell mid grade laptop , nothing special. It worked great never went down on me or crashed. I had no issues with stability and this program didn’t use too much ram either. Not even when adding a lot of effects on the mixer channel. The program is pretty powerful itself, like I said I was pretty surprised. And with the way it performed on my laptop I started using it more and more for my mobile set up.

OVERALL OPINION

Overall the program that Ableton has come out with is a solid music production software. But unfortunately I really don’t have a need for it. I never took the time to fully get to understand this program because the other programs that I use outshine this by a long shot. I feel like eventually Ableton will catch up to its competitors like Cubase and fl studio. But for right now there is not difference with this program. Nothing Stands out to me, it almost seems like a watered down version of Acid Pro to me. But Ableton Live 7 would be great if it was your first software, but don’t think you are going to get some good sounds, the sounds that come with this are very basic. This program is also a little overpriced for my liking.

Easy installation, very clear manual and lessons in French, there really was not complaining.

Rectif of 28/03/08: Actually I had an overheating problem due to the CPU fan completely blocked. Now I peus run between 20 and 25 high quality plugins (Arturia style, waves ...).

Great ergonomics, superb sound (Of course, if you do not remove the algorithm of time stretch the sound will be a ch ** r).
I tried cubase and logic, for me the choice is quickly made, the sound is good but the interface is much better live with.

This app is a blessing to many people. It can serve as main sequencer without any problem.

Yes, I have worked on long before you know Live Cubase, Cubase a fairly standard interface for a squenceur manipulations but requires heavier and more bugs as well as live.

Yes, without hesitation and I advise everyone to drop their Cubase, Nuendo, Logic and other for so squenceur.
Protools one could make me change my mind.

OVERALL OPINION

I Live user since version 4 on the same computer now.
I use it in Live and in studio.
In fact I wanted to compare the 5 Live Live 7 I just bought recently.
I have done this in order SHIFT to edit multiple tracks simultaneously.
The catches were made on 5 Live.
First disappointment when imported Live 7 projects (thirty tracks per track) it's hard to read. Stall and saturated drive which was not the case on 5 Live.
It took a juggling catch to carry voice.
However editing tracks simultaneously is simple even if it tends to distort the sound (choose the time-stretching algorithm).

Live off sometimes for no reason which could not before.
I feel that Live is more complex loses stability.
Ableton now offers packages of instruments that lights are strong freindly and make creating even faster which is still the big thing about Live.

In summary Live is a tool for creating extremely powerful and the stage for the production, however pure he currently shows some weaknesses compared to other programs that are not competitors, since Live is essentially a different tool.
I say this all the more easily the album I just realized that was completely recorded and mixed on Live Pro Tools HD and frankly the Pro Tools editing is something else ...

Ableton Live software is the most fun I used jsuqu 'present, fruityloops a cot is a MRDE frankly I will pay Suil.

-My machine is a PC powerful enough in 2008, core 2 duo, 2ghz of ram.
-The software works well on it.
The software is, little greedy in resources, but in my opinion more than the previous version.
-Attention is the opinion below! We all know that the PC configuration is less stable than the config mac. Especially when you have internet. So my pc is not connected to the internet and I see very few bugs. Beware of freeware and software cracked, too. This is the day and night with my old configs which had internet. And on my mac powerbook to live is even more stable.
In terms of sav, I blocked my live because I reinstalled the Avaya too, and the next day I received an email from ableton.

OVERALL OPINION

I use it for 3 months.
The special-I love the most: the ease of production! I love started working in loop mode, put my ideas, then switch to the sequencer. The big big plus of this version is the sidechain of the compressor. One little metttre on any tracks you want, simply select the source.
-The product is more expensive! value for money is correct, but it is not an audio editor.

SUITABILITY/PERFORMANCE

Athlon XP3200 +, the software runs correctly.

For cons:
- Via ReWire, the sound coming out of Reason lose all its dynamic
- The Novation Remote SL Automap of which passes through ReWire does not work. after studying the problem comes from poor integration of ReWire into Live
- Sound recording in direct compression type is treated to live. impossible to say what, this treatment does not appear in the project, it must be an integral part of the engine software
- The effects are provided with a quality

OVERALL OPINION

Used for a few weeks, I love its interface.

The rest ... sound via ReWire is bad, no simple way to apply groove (at the Reason 4), built-in effects are good no more.

As a user of Reason + hardware, it was just an attempt at a friend's hand for me when choosing my sequencer, software that does not comply with the sound input does not deserve to be considered further.

EDIT: I had an explanation for the quality of sound: the sound processing algorithms for live (compression etc ...) are integrated in the base audio line. Morality it sounds big, it sounds heavy, and in comparison with the same sounds on another sequencer, we see that live completely wrong sounds require a good definition.

Ableton 7 works flawlessly with my Macbook and Presonus firebox setup. 
As for the Manual, I looked through it a few times and found some answers here and there, but I only used it to find answers to questions I knew.  I got some video tutorials online that showed me things in Ableton I might have never known from just fingering thru the Manual.  So over all, I would say its clear, but not really sufficient. 
The general configuration and setup is a little daunting at first.  This is my first installment of Ableton and at first, I didn't have a clue what to do.  The session view was such a new concept for me, but, after plugging around for an hour (before I looked in the manual) I was able to grasp the basic concepts.  So I would say, alone, its not simple if you have never used any ableton's before, but if you poke around for a little bit you will get a good general idea of what to do.  Throw in a tutorial or two and you mind is going to blow!!!  Once I got used to the interface, yes, most all the functions are very accessible.

Yes, it works very good with my Macbook.  No problems.  
I have not had any stability issues with the program yet.  All updates have worked well too. 
Performance??  This thing is effing amazing.  I bought an Boss RC 50 unit 2-3 years ago to get the 1 man band thing going.  It functioned fairly well but had some serious limitations.  Ableton 7 has put my RC 50 to shame, and what I have read about 8 with the looper built in, well, I can't wait.  If you are looking to do the same, this is the software for you.  11 out of 10!!!
I have been using this program for about two months now.

OVERALL OPINION

What I like most is the great time stretching ability.  I don't know any hardware/software that is better than Ableton at doing this.  There are a lot more things I love, but I could go on forever.  What I don't like, well, I wish there was an option to setup midi control buttons to operate whatever track is highlighted.  Instead, you have to assign each button to one track, ends up using a lot of buttons.
I got ableton with an artist discount and paid around $250, which was an amazing deal. 
The sound quality sounds great, even when I set the samples way low (for latency issues).  Very happy with the sound.
Ableton 7 was the first I have used and as far as I know, there is no other program that does what Ableton does.
I would make the same choice in a heart beat.  This is essential to any electronic musician or even regular musician who wants an amazing tool to be a one man band.

Abelton Live 7 is amazing. Pretty much the only thing you can say. I love it so much; it makes creating music so much easier thanks to the session view. You can record as many pieces as you want and then play them all together or take parts out, creating things you wouldn’t have ever thought of. With Abelton Live you never lose a musical idea, that’s my favorite part about it. Unlike other major digital audio workstation’s which are super complex to use, so complex that you just end up wasting all your time figuring out how to work the program, Live is super easy, yet super effective. The simple drag and drop approach to put plugins in your tracks makes creating music such a breeze. If you have ever worked with a 4 or 8 track cassette recorder, and you try Live 7, you will feel right at home

OVERALL OPINION

I have been using Live 7 for only 2 months, however i have used some form of Live for about a year. My favorite part about Live 7 is how easy it is to make music. It has opened up my creativity so much. I had tried demos of other softwares and found Live 7 to be the best fit for me. I think for the price, Live 7 is unbeatable and if you have the cash, buy it. You will never want to get rid of it, ever.
