Harrison Audio Mixbus

Very easy install linux (ubuntu), just run the executable and return its password. Mixbus only works with the audio server jack.
I did not read the manual because I know ardor on which Mixbus is based.

SUITABILITY/PERFORMANCE

AMD phenom * 4, 8GB RAM, HDD WD 7200. RME HDSPe AES Solid State Logic Alpha Link SX. It is very stable, no stall / Xrun.

OVERALL OPINION

I use it almost since its release, I knew ardor and other recording software under linux.
The hardest part Mixbus is dropping the old automatic pasting external plugins everywhere. In 75% of cases, grafts can be used integrated mixer, ie we use the EQ (s) compressor (s) integrated into slices and put the tape saturation via the auxiliary buses. The big advantage is that all controls are available directly on the interface, this is a great time-saver to the mix. We even see the gain reduction for compressors.

Mixbus is only an audio sequencer, not MIDI, you can control everything against a MIDI control surface.

Another app that made me huge impression is Samplitude. Ardour Mixbus ... how to say, the sound is huge. There's something going on, the sound is big, lively, warm. I start with a penalty but I'm Mixbus already conquered, hoping that the association Ardour / Harrison will continue. For 80 euros all inclusive (soft, video 2H, manual) and ask another? Perfect for audio.

The EQ and comp are good for the price I must say. There are still some EQ and Comp better on the market but more expensive.
EQs are still easy to use. I set my frequency I go and it does what it is done.
The Comp lack of certain parameters such as the release. But it gets there anyway because they are very well adjusted to begin with.

Integrated free software "Ardour" editing is simple, mixing well. Too bad the MIDI is not integrated but can its linker between them, thanks to DAW software merveilleur "Jack" (Free).

This software + hardware is stable?

Did you try many other models before getting this one?
Pro Tools, Logic, DP, Reaper, Presonus One.

It is best to edit in your usual DAW (Logic is me) and mixing in Ardour importing wav files.
