Decent/Ok

Jazzware Jazz++ 4.xPublished on 05/21/12 at 22:21
Jazzware Jazz 4 was pretty quick and easy to install, it didn’t seem like a rather large file during installation though. It didn’t take long it just seem like it took some space on my hard drive and to me the program doesn’t have all the capabilities as some of the other software. It was also pretty easy to understand, I never toughed the manual once and had this software down pack. Using the midi through Jazzware Jazz 4 was a breeze though, I really didn’t think it was going to be that smooth and easy. The midi note screen is pretty good to work with too, I like how its easy on the eyes with the white background a black notes. The color scheme keeps it pretty easy.

SUITABILITY/PERFORMANCE

Jazzware Jazz4 really doesn’t have to much too it though. Don’t think you can do everything in it that you can do in other programs. They kept it very simple and basic. It wont make your system freeze or mess up and its good with your cpu. The one thing that I wish it had was some good effects, I felt like it lacks by not having them. All General sequencers need to have some good effects without having to use an 3 party to use your effects with. You can export your stuff out of Jazz 4 in a midi format or an audio wav formate I don’t think it exports in mp3 anymore (not too sure though just never tried to).

OVERALL OPINION

Overall, you will like using this software. I don’t think its worth the money though because it just doesn’t do enough for me after using Fl Studio Cubase and some others this sequencer isn’t enough. But you could possibly like it especially if you arent coming from another sequencer you might actually think its great. But to me its just ok.

Jazz + + is an open source sequencer for Windows and Linux. It still works in XP.

SUITABILITY/PERFORMANCE

The program requires little resource.

OVERALL OPINION

This is the ideal program if you use an apology from noon. The layout is a bit old but very clear, but not for its beauty that uses this type of program. Operation is simple and ergonomic. It has, moreover, quite interesting options generator.
A rediscovered date because the program already.

Well let's be clear, we are far from Cubase ...
But it works great even on small configs.
Installing child windows.
Linux it requires a prior configuration of the MIDI interface. Which may fall into the puzzle.

SUITABILITY/PERFORMANCE

The recording "live" or note to note are smooth.
It can generate arpeggios and melodies, can grind the addr and other parameters.

I've never seen crashes.

Just one display bug sometimes it has a slight tendency to "lose" the limits of the horizontal scrollbar. Is solved by recording the song, then quit and reload the program.

Nice bonus: the launch it automatically reloads the last recorded song. Simple, but delightful.

It has a possibility of audio tracks but I have not explored.

OVERALL OPINION

By far the best freeware I've found to date in terms of power, stability as ergonomics. No need to rack their brains to understand the logic of the program.

Installation is very easy under Windows. Care must be taken not to change its configuration without stopping (using a MIDI keyboard with the times, once without ...) not to get lost.
Linux is another story. I never got it to work out (audio out of date required), and I could not find a packaged version. That said, in Linux, I use Rosegarden 4, which is much more powerful and modern, so ...
The manual is simple, we have over the online help on MIDI concepts on the site of the publisher. But it is imperative to understand English (not French). But as the software is fairly simple and intuitive, it is problematic for absolute beginners.

SUITABILITY/PERFORMANCE

I use it only on my IBM Thinkpad X20 subnotebook (P3 600 MHz, 192 MB RAM, Windows 2000), with a clavinova as input (possibly out) MIDI.
The software works perfectly under this configuration modest, and the whole is stable. You have to see this software as a good notebook for a composer who can play and edit MIDI files without taking the head with a powerful but complex software. Output formats are limited. Mid (SMF1) and. Wav, so everything is easily retrievable!

OVERALL OPINION

I use it occasionally for 6 months, I knew him before, but I had overlooked. I love its light weight, and the opportunity to work on a computer with modest performance. Well, this program is obsolete (even in Linux), but given its qualities, it is unfortunate that there was no update for some time. As this is a free program and free, it does not compete with other programs. It is simply complementary to other sequencers performance. I think it deserves the attention the attention of users who understand English and have an old inefficient machine they no longer know what to do, especially for those who want to learn the concepts without a sequencer invest anything but time!
