PG Music PowerTracks Pro Audio 2010Published on 12/05/12 at 12:35
The PG Music Power Tracks Pro Audio 12 is one of the most affordable DAW programs that you can purchase for Windows computers (only for Windows). Unfortunately it does not support plug ins properly which is where I think that it is a fail. You can use this with any computer that you have the runs Windows 98 and up which is just about any Windows computer that was made in the last 15 years. The system requirements to run this software are very standard and low so you will have no issue installing or running it.

    SUITABILITY/PERFORMANCE

Using this DAW you will have the ability to record, punch in and out; add some light effects and some minor mixing. But it won’t take you any farther than that. You can record up to 48 tracks which is well more than enough for someone who is a beginner. If you are not a beginner do not purchase this, it has major limitations. The sequencer cannot be compared to sequencers in Cubase, Reason and FL Studio by any means. But it is decent and it will work for your temporary needs.

    OVERALL OPINION

If you are going to purchase the Power Tracks Pro Audio 12 then you mine as well save up some more money and at least get FL Studio producer edition. Or purchase a M Audio interface and get Pro Tools essentials. It will work way better for you than this can and it will have way more out of the box abilities and features to use. This DAW is very basic and has many limitations to what you can actually do with it. If you are trying to bring in external plug ins with it, forget about it because it will not work properly. Learning this program is a waste of time. Not that it is not good it just is not enough and you will outgrow it very quickly and will need to upgrade anyways. Most computers come with a DAW better than this one.
