Using Steinbergs Cubase VST 5 is one of the easiest programs you will use. It is very easy to set up and get running. It took no effort at all to install and I never needed to touch the manual at all. It worked great on my xp and vista computer, keep in mind that if you are thinking of purchasing this and you have a mac then it wont work. Cubase was not designed for macs and probably never will be or at least any time soon. I have even asked them on the phone if they would ever make it compatible with macs so I could have it on my mac book but they said no, and they have no intentions of going to the apple platform.


SUITABILITY/PERFORMANCE

It works great on my dual core pc, and on my cheaper laptop that doesn’t have much ram on it at all. I haven't had a single issue while running Steinberg’s Cubase VST 5. I used it a lot and still use it to this day and I have no issues with running it.


OVERALL OPINION

One of the things that I wish I could change with it is that when running a lot of vst’s (if you don’t run out of vst slots) it can get a little buggy on you. I am not sure why, maybe my laptop just needs more ram, but it still did this and it was very frustrating from the time that I noticed this happening I would kind of shy away from using it because I use a lot of vsti plug ins and if I know that im going to have problems with them after I get half way through my project session I wouldn’t even want to use Cubase VST 5 at all , just so I could avoid the problems all together.

This is the main problem I had with Cubase VST 32 5.0: Can not run Windows XP and large synchronization problem in Windows 95. Conclusion: to make it work, you must use Windows 98.

SUITABILITY/PERFORMANCE

I use a PIII 667 MHz / 256 MB RAM / 20 GB HDD / Soundblaster Live sound card. Everything works properly except some problem when recording, audio tracks ncessitent we restart 2 times the piece before you walk.

OVERALL OPINION

It's been 6 months that I use and I must admit that it is more user friendly and the simplest of t given squenceurs who love to see. Installed Cubase IDAL is the tool for beginners.

Installation is no problem. I had version 3.6 before, which ignores vritables a disaster in terms of stability. Version 5.x is much more stable, however, without being a MODEL in the field.

SUITABILITY/PERFORMANCE

My PC config: PII933, 512 MB RAM, Win 2000, an IDE HDD 7200 rpm, a DD UWSCSI 10 000 rpm. Sound card: Audio RME DIGI 9652. Under 98 c'tait relatively stable in 2000 is better. I test a lot in MIDI beginners and c'tait trs correct. I did a piece Rcemment any audio + virtual instruments, a perfect run (except when with my 8 virtual instrumentals, and my my 5 EQ effects, I saturate the processor). Surprises in passing: we may not receive "only" 8 of Cubase VST 5.x SX is not the limit, so I think making the update shortly.

OVERALL OPINION

I use Cubase for at least 5-6 years, and Cubase 5.x for 2 years. The 3.6 silent one ***** over, the 5.x for me much more dj, and SX ... I would say is soon! As against the habitus of 3.6 would be surprised if a lot of keyboard shortcuts have changed in the t version 5.x. I tried Sonar and Logic, but when you're used all the keyboard shortcuts of a soft, we change difficult. I can not say whether I would do exprience with this choice: I am relatively satisfied, but may be I would have chosen Logic ds The beginning ... History of good habits to work quickly with. My computer is trs viel AMD K6 II 400Mhz 256 MB of memory, the card is the beautiful Tascam US-428.
Surprise, it works better than Cubasis Vst US-428 (which often lost sync) here even though the app is heavier, the slightest problem.
Only enui is that falait disable Telc.Activ. (I am a pianist and often plays note C6).
I expected a disaster, because with the version Allgemeine, has had trouble. But it's magic, the soft heavier works better than the allg.
Stability issue all goes well, Windows 98 is happy.

OVERALL OPINION

I use deuis few weeks and I did not like Cubase (Logic of j'tais before, but you know some history) but it was the only soft Fully grate the Tascam. I changed my mind, if the version 3.XX were bof (mixing twelve o'clock doubtful unstable ...) Cubase VST 5 is gnial (I think better than SX and XL, they do not give access s to MIDI tracks from the Tascam).
I think the gulf between a crazy Cubasis and Cubase first.
I tried to beginners Cubase VST 3.? with a friend, I did not, I found a very heavy and unstable, after I gained 7 CakeWalk, I found a well before discovering Logic Audio (for me the best, but not for PC ) and I am back but this time on Cubase enchant.
The report quality price (same for 500 Vst) is very good for me because trs function are evolved. I would not say more evil of Cubase, I promise!

So much for those who knew Cubase 3.xx and have the does, try it over the same 5 and SX is really screwed up (but not Windows 2000/XP and control tracks twelve o'clock from the US-428).

I know this app is Vieu, but I bought used (it is easy to + / - 100 for the VST version) and it is worth.

In résumé.

I wanted to buy but the steering SL MIDI tracks n'tait implementations and not when I tried Cubase 5 I thought "This is a thing", so I looked on occasions.

So if you have an old machine or a Tascam US-428, you see in your journal "For Sale Cubase 5" go to my guy.

PS The dongle is parallel range of port, a port that has tendency disappear.

The installation is made without any problem and no conflict is adplorer. For the configuration is fairly simple if we pass a previously Cubase VST, at least that's my opinion, as previously j'utilis version 5 this one. Regarding the manual I did not because my cubase vst t comes with my emu 1820, more that I have version 5.1, but hey, the basis remains the same from a few amliorations.

SUITABILITY/PERFORMANCE

My setup is this: a motherboard msi K7N2 delta, an AMD Sempron 2400 +, 1.5 GB RAM, 2 hard drive, a 80 and 40 go, and my sound card is an emu 1820. With this configuration the software operates Manir excellent. As for performance, it is quite difficult, I know that when I use 8-track audio with at least one Plug'ins of effects tracks, automation, and mastering effects masters, I brush 10% of the cpu consumption. For me this setup is very stable.

OVERALL OPINION

I use Cubase VST 5.1 from 6 months, and for me there is nothing I love more or less in this software, it is not perfect, but close. Before this one I went through quartz audio master, not bad, but ... Then Cubasis VST 5, great software for those who do not want to mess with this one cubase, but keeping these qualities, I recommend ... Then Cubase VST 5.1. For the price quality ratio I think it is very well, and if I had to do this will be a choice this one, although now it is Exceeds.
