UTILIZATION
Child configuration, the manual will enlighten you on the least understood concepts (there really is not much ...)
Editing sounds is very fast and instinctive. When you have understood the logic, the composition may be in minutes, which does not work a bit more precisely a pattern ... Recording on the fly easy (notes, beats, automation ...) After the programming step is not very fast compared to ....( 1 sps is not the same budget either ...)
The tubes have always left quite doubtful ... It's pretty, but it is not really a big thing ...
MIDI sync sometimes seemed a bit imprecise (but it may also be due to my clock generator not top ...)
SOUNDS
Sounds very oriented techno, electro hip hop ... Personally, I soon realized that the attractions of this machine lies more in its use in the quality of its sounds ... (Especially the beats ...) Some synths are pretty cool, they allow some interresting possibilities after good, it remains confined within a fairly narrow field ... Ideal for dial demos ...
Then, it is enough to have fun, if thee a good idea, you can implement it in record time.
The effects, cons, are quite convincing! Possibility of using the machine as a "multi purpose" via audio in ...
OVERALL OPINION
Everything depends on the reasons why we buy it ....
Personally, I bought this machine to introduce me to the production hardware, and I do not regret this purchase at all, even though today I turn to machines much more serious (see Elektron ...). It allows you to enter the logical machine without getting lost in patches too complex and without breaking the bank. Although the sounds are not very massive, its use is very playful, you can spend some time on it without getting bored.
It's still a machine entry level ....
I know that despite the purchase of machinery further, I'll still keep it below the elbow, the ribbon controller, and some effects ....
One of the strengths of Korg in this category of products: It can acquire some machines at a relatively low, although, of course, is far from a war machine ... Korg is always trying to add a small innovation, making their product a little more fun here, the ribbon controller, for creating leads, from a selected mode (Mixolydian, Dorian, blues, etc. ...).
A good introduction to the machine hardware, good value, after, well, it's not the ultimate bug ...
