With regard to this chapter, I think Peter has already extensively detailed in the previous opinion, so ... I do not add!

UTILIZATION

I personally found using fairly intuitive and simple, I had little recourse to the doc. It is true that I have a good experience with this kind of tool path, but the functions to edit is quickly assimilated. The system configurations of algorithms seems to me satisfactory, no need to have more opportunities in terms of mixing different effects, it would confuse the user ... for a final rendering moot ...
You have to go quite a while on the machine to get the most and especially not just to scroll through the factory presets are as is often the case in ch .... Anyway, this kind of bike is designed to adapt to the desires of the guitarist who uses it and is equipped with all features to be modeled sound that you want, whatever the style of music that the we play. Both Eq, pre and post can get just about all the possible variables and adjust the sound very fine, as long as it is not put off by the idea of crushing a few buttons in all directions . Again, it is certain that it is quite time consuming but the cost to manufacture its sound.
The manual is clear and can go wherever we want, no obligation to read everything, only the "features" specific Rocktron may require application of the doc is in the form of diagrams and captions very accessible.

SOUNDS

The Voodu suits me perfectly. I use a lot of sounds very saturated and also a lot of crunches sounds a little bluesy. Coupled with my power amp Marshall EL 34 + 1922 Marshall two speakers (for use in stereo), the sound is monstrous. Luke and I use my one of my Vigiers, the result is always very impressive, it is obviously necessary to adjust the set (primarily in the preamp ...) to match the grain of the guitar but. .. it sounds! I do not see the point of adding other things, effects racks or pedals ... If you really want to "quibble", one can always find some faults. Some purists will say that to reach the top, a separate preamp rack effects, good Lexicon reverb pedals and a few carefully chosen are necessary ... I myself as an "all in one", the top is really Voodu and does not suffer from notorious imperfection! This is an excellent material, I will not use the term deliberately not "compromise" because I think it is not one, it gets to the bottom of things and offers attractive solutions, even the most demanding.
A special mention for the Hush, which allows the use of large saturation discard the feedback and "post-boys" that often go with, Hush, which, though very brief, do not completely distorts the basic sound. Another indication for the parameter + "Variac", which allows all the fantasies in the area of distortion, really nice. The delay and reverb are more basic but quite adequate for most needs classics.

OVERALL OPINION

I use it for a few days ... In comparison, I had the combination Marshall JMP1 + TC G Major, but the possibilities are still much lower, especially for the part of the preamp JMP1 whose scope of sonic possibilities remain well below those of Voodu. I also had a Vox Tonelab SE, not comparable, it is in the pure digital juice, and it is very cold ... On the Vox, the effects are much more numerous but of very poor quality, for me, this thing is a toy ... I also used a Marshall JVM 410H + BB + Tc G major preamp etc ... but again, I can not find the versatility and the grain of the Rocktron, for against, it is a true Hush death to hold the horse, which does not occur with the sounds of Voodu also extremely saturated ... My Rivera M60 gave me just the same type of sound, with the possibility of gain saturation much lower still (fairly well filled with a BB preamp ...) and especially the inability to save anything!! ! Finally, compared to software solutions known (GR3, Amplitube, etc. ...), is recovered the use of the volume knob on the guitar, no pb latency and it should be recognized, even though I am a big fan of GR3 , the sound is really live, with an ease that suits me!

Conclusion: a great preamp "all in one!" Bought used, a real bargain, versatile, beautiful and varied saturation hot, lots of gain, easy and fast handling, in short, I'm really excited ... I have not used on anything other than a power amp, it would seem to be less comfortable on other systems, which may seem very logical. And do not forget that compared to ten pedals and a traditional preamp (even that of the last five .......), Mesa Mark everything is programmable. With a simple pedal south, we pass from Hendrix to Van Halen, Gilmour then ... without jumping in with both feet on four switches at the same time ... and even more if we use the exchange programs-and a good sequencer to automatically change the sounds ... it's worth a few evenings to program presets.
