SKB launched its first injection molded guitar cases, the 3i-4214-66 for "Strat" and 'Tele" style guitars and the 3i-4214-56 for "LP" style guitars.
3i Series injection molded waterproof cases are constructed of polypropylene copolymer resin and feature a gasketed, waterproof and airtight, submersible design (IP67) that is resistant to corrosion and impact damage. Its molded-in hinge, “trigger release” latch system, snap-down rubber over-molded cushion grip handles, secure stacking, and automatic ambient pressure equalization valve (MIL-STD-648C) all contribute to its military grade design.
With four (4) SKB trigger latches (two with built-in TSA locks), four reinforced padlock locations, lockout handles on three (3) sides and recessed, in-line skate style wheels, transporting your guitar around the world is both worry and trouble free. Meanwhile, your instrument is cradled in a crushed velvet lined EPS interior.
Traditional flight cases loaded with gear can exceed the 50 lbs weight limit for checked baggage. The 3i-4214–66 Strat/Tele Case and the 3i-4214–56 LP Style case are based on a uni-body design which eliminates the need for excessive metal reinforcing hardware found on traditional flight cases. These cases are under 20 lbs (empty), according to the company.
The new guitar cases are covered by SKB’s Lifetime Warranty.
Pricing & Availability
The 3i-4214–56 and the 3i-4214–66 should be available now from authorized SKB dealers with estimated street price of $249.99 (US).
