Boss DD-6 Digital DelayPublished on 09/18/04 at 15:00
Got it off musicians friend for 130ish, plus another 30 for power, cable and shipping. I wanted to start a pedal collection to replace my digitechs. Bought this as a start.

Amazing effects. In addition to standard delay [up to 2.6 seconds] its got a bunch of neato tricks up its sleeve. Reverse delay is amazing; plays your solo backwards! And a warp mode that lets you just build up a wall of noise as long as you keep your foot on the pedal. And my personal favorite: set for 80ms mode, longest delay time, most feedback, low volume and it creates this howl that you can manipulate with the time knob...I use that for a drone sound to riff over.

I originally thought that the reverse mode would just alter the dynamics of your playing to sound like it was going backwards. I would have liked that as an option. Also, a way to keep the delay going while playing something without being delayed would be cool. But without those features its still a great pedal and I really dont have anything to complain about.

One word: Boss. Need I say more?

Great pedal. May seem like alot of money to put down on one pedal, but I have no regrets about it.

I got this little puppy from Old Town Music in Portland, OR for $130 brand new.

If you're looking for some good delay, then this is the pedal for you!! It has delay up to 5.2 seconds as well has reverse delay (sounds just like hendrix), warp, which is a cool feedback-like feature, and also hold mode, which you can basically record 5 seconds of a chord progression and jam along to it. You can also tap the tempo of the delay to the song youre playing!

Batteries go pretty fast, but just get a power supply. Also the small fact that I personally might not use ALL of the features, but other than that, no complaints!

Well, its a Boss... otherwise known as a rock.

    SOUND QUALITY

I think the sound is really great. In a clean makes her much more crystalline and has crystal clear reverb adds a little more, however the sound is quite cold but with a graphic fuzz distortion was falling apart. Warp mode is not exploitable unless the trs pdt bend a good solo.
    Basically the sound is great.

    OVERALL OPINION

It's been one month maintenat I use is I regret it. I bought on a whim and I'm on bay trs content.Le new price is excessive but I find OCCAZ was worth.

Effects: E-level (effect level), feedback (number of repetitions of delay) d-time (delay time of delay) and a mode selector: 4 timebase and warp, hold and reverse

Mono 2 Stereo 2 mono stereo

    UTILIZATION

Configuration simplistic, sound edition easy ... nothing to report

    SOUND QUALITY

Crystalline effects, in hypnotic sounds clear, with distortion is not bad either, in short class at the pathetic state of pedal

    OVERALL OPINION

Report / money to do anyway ...

    UTILIZATION

    Simple as pie, 2 in (mono-stereo), 2 out (mono-stereo).
    Pedal on / off
Creation of different sounds very simple, four knobs.
Manuel clear, but hey not much use ...
One big addition to the pedal (compared what I've experienced) is that it keeps the last note of the fact when they put it off, so no sudden change when one moves from a riff a riff with effect no effect!

Beh sound is really great (for use with piezo Ibanez S520x + Mesa Boogie Mark IV)

I was surprised at the quality of her on my clean channel, I have a piezo pickup that I think the t trs's always cold, it is he brings me a great color very interesting, and also a kind of compression (and yes my ca parru weird too) but I find the sound of a dynamic and better sustain longer ...

    It's been two days

    - Warp (accentuation of rptitions and level when pressing on the switch)
2 inputs, 2 outputs for a game in Stereo and / or plug in two instruments in the pedals.

    Other functions and indications
. Rptitions infinity if one adjusts the maximum feedback.
. The Premire Notes cheeks (Premire attack mdiator) are deleted if they put up the Level in the reverse mode
. The delay time is multiplied by 2 when using only the 2nd exit delay time = 5.2s)
. Tap Tempo function if you keep pressing the switch (the delay time is adjustable between 0.3 and 2.6s)

    Bossar ( http://www.bossarea.com/loadpage.asp?file=boxes/dd6.xml )

    UTILIZATION

Use + or - easy to hold and warp modes are quite dlicates use (my faith I did not much used), and what is the delay in him rglage the same should be invited to adjust the tempo you play (the reverse as easier).

This document is not useless, so as not to miss any opportunity to the pedals. 2 stickers "post it" come with.

    Manual ( http://lib.roland.co.jp/manual/en/dl_04-03235/DD-6_e2.pdf )

    SOUND QUALITY

Rendering is always trs own, it's no coloration numrique then your basic sound, the SD-6 is clearly transparent.

    Sample manufacturer ( http://www.bosscorp.co.jp/demos/en/DD-6_sound/demo.html )

    OVERALL OPINION

Boss of trs great (if only c'tait always the case ...) or the numrique is his honor: the rptions gnres are true copies of the Notes cheeks. It was therefore a delay of pedals trs trs complte the rglages can really go far or vice versa trs to have a short delay extrmment prcis.
We can get sounds that have no prior relationship with a delay (mode 4) so the delay time is low: 0.05 s, it can therefore be used as a filter or something approximating a Ring Modulator .
It is from beginners to anne replaces the DD-7 (enlargement of delay + add an output tap tempo modes Warp + replacement and Hold for Analog and Modulate).

    the +
. complte pedals (many modes and functions)
    . precision of rglages
    . his impeccable
. sounds hypnotic on Mode 4

    the -
. no output for tap tempo (unlike the DD-5!)

This is a pure delay pedal. You can also get chorus and slap back echo out of this unit, among other sounds. I believe it is digital and cannot be edited via computer. It is a floor pedal, so it is not rackable. It has two stereo inputs as well as two stereo outputs, great for bi-amping !

There are four knobs: E. level, feedback, delay time and mode. I do not have a manual, because it's used. So if you don't know much about delay, like me, you can play with the pedal for a time and figure out some really cool delay effects on this thing. Switch the mode around, and you get several different effects within one pedal. E. Level is like your volume. Feedback is the amount of delay you get, and delay time is the duration of the delay. Pretty straightforward.

    SOUND QUALITY

This is one of the best pedal delays in the business. Don't mess around with other delay stomp-boxes, this is the one to get. I put this pedal at the end of my pedal chain. I use the stereo output to bi-amp and the "ping-pong" effect that occurs at certain delay settings is really cool. Reminiscent of Pat Metheny on clean settings, Van Halen on distortion settings. I use 80 millisecond mode to add a little light delay to my solos. Gives it some nice "sustain", but not so much delay that notes start bleeding into each other. AT 300ms, you have a chorus type effect. Pair it with another chorus, and it sounds very lush and full! AT 800 ms, you've got a slap-back delay or echo, perfect for country or bluegrass music. At 2600 ms, you've got some wicked tape delay ! There's even a setting that makes your electric sound like a violin !

    OVERALL OPINION

I've been using this pedal for a couple months more than a year. Once I figured how to get some cool sounds out of this unit, there really isn't anything I don't like about it. I especially like the stereo outputs for bi-amping. This was lent to me, so I didn't try anything else besides it. I would hazard to guess that unless I get an expensive rack-mountable delay unit, nothing compares to this amazing pedal. I wouldn't spend as much money as it costs to get this thing new. I would have to get it used. And if my friend didn't lend it to me, I probably would buy it, because I don't know what I'd do without it. The stereo capability alone makes it worth having and keeping.
