« Danelectro Fab Tone »
Published on 06/25/01 at 15:00 I puchased this unit in a quaint little guitar shop in Kansas for about $75.00 and change. I was in desperate need of a new distortion pedal after my last one took one stomp too many.
I think it was love at first sight. The Danelectro's retro styling and solid metal chassis were almost enough for me to throw caution to the wind and buy it right then and there. Then I plugged it in and knew it was the one for me! Even with the gain turned all the way down this beast growls. Crank it up and hear it roar! The controls are very basic. ( Volume, Bass, Treble, and Fab-"distortion"). This little stomp box can go from balls to the wall low end rumble to spine tingling treble and everything in between!
My only complaint about the Fab Tone is the lack of a mid control. I think that would give it alot more tonal flexability.
This is one solid stomp box! As road worthy as they come.
I have to say that this is one of the finest distortion units I have ever abused! The name says it all... Fab Tone!
