Pedal distortion / OD modeling the grain of various famous models (see previous reviews, I can not say more ...) associating if you need it, a simulation of HP to each effect (for those that plugs into Direct console).
So actually, it's a pedal format "standard" type and not a Boss multi-programmable effects. We must switch models by hand using the dedicated knob.
The case is heavy and my faith strong enough to remain. Look "carbon" for the nice little story ...

UTILIZATION

So basically, there are some settings that are told we will have to tweak a time to find a sound that works for you: High, Medium, Low-medium passse + filter + level + gain ... All this with 7 models ... Hum. It is far from the 3 buttons on the Boss DS1 (excellent distortion actually ...).
But here's what I did in my case (and it only applies to me): I use a VOX AD50VT modeling amp. For my clean sound, I use a preset (one that matches the Fender Bassman actually) makes a pleasant ringing my Les Paul Standard. I put the knobs High, Medium and Low of DF7 to 12 (as préconnisé on the record for the grain "core" of the original pedal for all models). I stalled the medium-pass at 10 "history", the gain to 2 for convenience and personal level ... bah to balance my sound! I started modeling 3 (Boss DS1 precisely). And then: quiet carnage. It sounded forth impeccable. After more than turn the modeling for a sound radically different. So, for distos, juggling between that of the amp, my Wylde Overdrive and the possibilities of DF7, it opens a max of possibilities with minimal effort.
I have not spent 15 days in settings (I hate that). In any case, the models sound like not possible. This pedal is hell!

SOUND QUALITY

As already said, a must in terms of rendering. I used a lot of distortion / OD ... Boss HM2, Old OD Tokai I made the mistake of selling at the time, distos Korg multi-effect was a time, Metal Muff, Ibanez Tubescreamer ... But despite the quality of the effects, not satisfied with the scope too narrow. Here Digitech offers all in one with more settings than the originals. Proponents of the sculpting of the hyper end should be delighted.
I found the distortion of happiness (I think it goes without saying!). And it sounds!

OVERALL OPINION

Got all that from reading these lines ... No complaints. This is the foot.
In addition, the footswitch is ultra-flexible which makes it even better.
The value is excellent RPIX (add therefore the price of different pedals represented in boiboite ...).
Clearly, this choice I would do without hesitation and I do not recommend this as pex stuff.
