Distorted hi-gain tube with integrated noise gate.
Connections: in / out, 12V AC power supply.
UTILIZATION
Very simple settings: gain, level, 3 band eq + Switch attendance.
The manual is quite succinct, but good enough.
SOUND QUALITY
This pedal produces a beautiful hi-gain distortion, with a grain sufficiently warm while being accurate. It is oriented metal, but not too much: there are a lot of gain but it does not come into effect "saw" a lot of distos I had the opportunity to test ...
The equalizer allows precisely sculpt the sound, while remaining very musical: eg knob treble does not add a "swarm of bees" completely unusable.
As for the noise gate built is bliss! It is perhaps a bit abrupt in its extreme settings, but fills his role very well.
The switch presence adds a little extra clarity can be very valuable: I use this pedal repeatedly in all kinds of amplifiers, the transistors until all lamps, and thanks to this switch, I always find my sound .
OVERALL OPINION
I used formerly a BlackStar HT-DistX, which I find really excellent, but for my taste does not suffice to herself. To achieve the sound I was looking for, I had him add a gate Boss NS2, and a Boss eq GE7 ... Quick 3 pedals just to my basic sound.
With the Tube King, I basically found everything here in one pedal.
The big sound and ease of use, what more?
