UTILIZATION
you just need to keep in mind that the settings differ depending on the type of guitar and amp used
must also take into account the interaction between the different settings: for example, add drive adds fréquances acute so you have to compensate with the tone / another example, the lack of bass can be overcome by boosting the output level
short, there is no single setting and it should be taken into account as soon as you change the config or change style
SOUND QUALITY
For me, what is most striking in tone, it is the presence at the media typically reminiscent marshall, which is rare for this type of pedal (which are usually dug at this level)
to talk of gain, you must know that this pedal is between distortion and fuzz: the level of drive is huge and pulls something deliciously muddy in extreme settings (great for a lead but less happy on a rhythmic)
on a clean channel, the result is quite honest even if it is in this case the lack of bass is most felt, if you set your amp channel between clean and crunch, bass and reappearing this will crescendo (it takes blow down the drive pedal to compensate)
the overall dynamics in this configuration remains correct if we do not abuse the drive
on a drive channel, you must seriously drive down the pedal and you get a very strong boost and deep enough that complies with the characteristics of the amp (in my experience anyway, to marshall and orange)
OVERALL OPINION
I realized the Ruetz mod and now I do not use the overdrive pedal in position
this mod is magical: we win lots of bass and this lowers the overall gain (which is astronomical origin), the overall dynamics is also greatly improved
I suggest very strongly that this mod does wonders for an investment and ease of implementation ridiculous
I recently compared a few pedals (boss bd-2 blues driver, fulltone ocd v4 and ibanez ts-9 tube screamer): For me, the best overdrive on the clean channel is Proco Rat Ruetz mod 2
Briefly, this pedal deserves its mythical reputation (unlike other references like the boss ds-1 distortion)
