Martin & Co announced that the company will use Martin SP Lifespan acoustic guitar strings on production guitars.
Martin SP Lifespan strings with Cleartone technology is said to provide “a rich full tone with the added benefit of longer life, ” according to Martin. Guitars leaving the factory using SP Lifespan will have a hang tag for identification at the retailer.
Introduced late in 2010, the Martin SP Lifespan acoustic guitar strings start with a steel SP core wire, which is designed “to deliver a perfect combination of tensile strength and response.” Bronze electroplating is added to protect and enhance the core wire, which is “complemented by the wraps that bring the full, rich tone players demand, ” according to Martin & Co.
