A dozen Pedals, Fender Tele, Fender Champion 100, 2 one spots.
Play Rock music and sing.
Boss style pedal with battery or 9v option.
This isnt a very popular effect but if you learn to use it in the right way you can get all kinds of useful shapes from it, the digitech "synthwah" is the unit after this one which is also usable in the bass realm.
Picked this pedal up on a random find and dont plan on getting rid of it any time soon as it has made its own niche on my board :bravo:

THE SOUND! WHAT A GREAT FUNKY EFFECT. IT ADDS ANOTHER DEMENSION TO MY PLAYING.IT IS VERY USER FRIENDLY AND SIMPLE TO USE.THREE POTS CONTROL THE EFFECT AND INSTRUCTIONS GIVE DEMO SETTINGS TO HELP YOU. THE SOUND IS TOUCH SENSITIVE WHICH ADDS TO THE VERSAILITY OF THE UNIT. NICE BRIGHT LED.NOISELESS SWITCHING. POWER UP ONLY WHEN CONECTED.

NOTHING. A GOOD WELL THOUGHT OUT DESIGN.

OVERALL OPINION

Attention sensitive pedal. Give a little bit of difference to your favorite pick. The pedal is well designed, practical and well change the sound. The sensitivity setting is important and effective.
An Envelope Filter is not a autowah. For the funky style, attention must be very regular wrist, otherwise sound magma.

In, short, a good pedal, but not in the set of beginner guitarist, it's the generated more than anything else.

Tech. sheet

  • Manufacturer: DOD
  • Model: FX25B Envelope Filter
  • Category: Wah-Wah/Auto Wahs/Filters for Guitar
  • Added in our database on: 11/20/2004

The FX25B Envelope Filter was introduced at the Winter 1998 NAMM meeting, replacing the FX25 Envelope Filter in DOD's lineup. Loosely based on the FX25 (but modified for the new "final series" chassis design), the FX25B's circuit also featured a Blend knob to help make it more suitable for use with bass guitar. The FX25B was retained when production shifted to China with the VFX series.

  • Controls: Blend, Sensitivity, Range
  • From the manual: "The FX25B is an update of the classic auto-wah/envelope filter. The FX25B has an added blend knob so it can be used with either guitar or bass. The FX25B works well for heavily enveloped funky chords or for leads with just a slight vowel quality to them. When you start to use the FX25B you can feel the groove that makes your bootie move."

The manual continues by stating "the FX25B should be operated in front of an amplifier, but it can be used in an effects loop as well," and warns "when using the FX25B don't be suprised [sic] if you suddenly have the urge to go out and buy some platform shoes and tight poly-blend slacks."
  • Suggested retail price (1998): $99.95
  • Technical info:

  • Notable IC chips (1999): one JRC 13600D dual OTA, two JRC 4560D op-amps
  • Component-side circuitboard image: April 2000
  • Related circuit: GFX25
  • FX heritage: FX25 FX25B
