«  Excellent design type ES 335 »

Published on 05/31/14 at 23:40
Bought second hand guitar for 150 euros, I think it is a model made in China. In all cases, the guitar is very beautiful. The violin is remarkable. The handle is worthy of Ibanez, ie very comfortable. Incidentally, I did not know was able qu'Epiphone because, until now, semi hollow model of this brand that I tested had left me rather skeptical about this plan. The frets are well posed. the owner had dropped the action up like solid body, the gain in ease of playing interfered with the sound, so I raised the action to fully resonate checkout. In acoustics, the sounds are very convincing and typed jazz. Regarding the electronics is conventional with two humbucking jack plug, to the front table as potentiometers. The guitar is very beautiful, vintage sunburst is a success.

UTILIZATION

Sleeve, as previously written, is a model of comfort. Ergonomics is classic. The guitar is relatively bulky and heavy, but this is the model who wants it. The acoustic sound, once the action raised, is very good. The pickups are ok, nothing more. As it stands, they are still usable, they provide a typical vintage sound. It is clear that given the overall quality of the violin, a change of microphones (eg P100) can only be beneficial to a guitar that provides excellent feel for the game

SOUNDS

I play rock'n'roll. I typed a game blues rock with this guitar is perfectly suited to my style.

OVERALL OPINION

I use it since yesterday. It's been two months since I want a semi-hollow body ES-type 335. I have owned an OSCAR SCHMIDT Delta King oe 30 (very good guitar bolt on neck that I recommend by the way) and after a typical Ibanez ES 339 AM 73 or 53 (it is no longer in the catalog it was also very successful) I try and china guitars of this type for some time. Ibanez AS 53, Epiphone 339 (model (beautiful violin sound a little dry!) very average), Epiphone DOT Studio (sound good but not very comfortable), YAMAHA SA 500 (a killer), Ibanez ASR 70 (very good with two P90) ... Until I came across the announcement of the Epiphone DOT. So for 150 euros, I'm at a stringed Ibanez or Yamaha, with better than Ibanez, but worse than the SA 500 pickups sold about 400 euros new. With this model Epiphone located at stringed Ibanez.
