Made in Korea.
22 frets, 2 dual-coil pickups.
Floating bridge.
4 knobs: master volume (top right), tone, volume and volume of the bridge pickup + neck pickup selector 3 positions.
I have never seen more beautiful than Gretsch guitars, and this is really MAG-NI-FI-QUE! The orange color, the varnish of excellent quality, the wood grain visible, excellent pickups and chrome shining everywhere: all of which distinguish it easily from her sisters Electromatic. Only the transparent plate above the pickups that I intend to change, it's a little too ... transparent, fair. I plan to put a plate beige instead. There, it will be perfect.
UTILIZATION
I've never played a round more enjoyable. A pure delight! It looks like velvet ... I also play on a Telecaster and it has absolutely nothing to do, it is even time to adapt to change from one to another. Of course, everyone will understand just by seeing her, it's not a guitar made for playing Satriani. Here it comes to savor each note, taking the time ... Oh, I forgot the Bigsby! Happiness in its purest form! It's so trippant you might want to use it all the time, at the slightest note! He not only throws, but also it is super effective, easy handling, its scope is wide and it does not tune the guitar, unless you go like crazy!
SOUNDS
AAAAAAAAAAAHHHH THIS SON!! If you do not know yet what it is that famous GREAT GRETSCH SOUND, try it and you will understand ... Gretsch only have one like him ... A warm, round, velvety, deep and sustain that you will soon pass you ... A condition to accept a certain lack of versatility, of course. This guitar will not go anywhere. She has such a grain, such as personality and a look that will appeal above all lovers of beautiful things, beautiful sounds and retro charm. This is the guitar I play almost all the time in my indie rock band, and it sounds like a marvel in both the registry and quiet melodic pieces in violent and edgy - just know how to use ... Question amp, Gretsch and Fender is truly a winning combination. I plugged into my Fender FM 212 while transistor, clear channel most often, and it sounds really good. Well, sure, I prefer a Fender tube, but until the Hot Rod, well we did with the means at hand. I can not imagine what it would be a 59 Bassman or Twin Amp ...
OVERALL OPINION
I bought a few months ago and this is my favorite guitar. It is not only one of the most beautiful guitars I have ever seen, but in addition the one I really enjoy the most. The handle is a delight, the sound is great, the sound palette is quite varied. It differs from the other Gretsch Electromatic Series! She has it all: the look, sound, class, style, character ... And the price is amazing for a guitar of quality and finish like that! Ah, the indescribable happiness out of the case at the beginning of a repeat and hear everyone exclaiming "waaaouuuuuh I can touch it?".
Changes after five months: that's it I changed the plate! Aaaah, it's really better! I bought the plate "Nashville" on e-bay, I had to cut the edges a bit since the pickups are bigger than an American, and I put away the transparent plate in the drawer. Result: she was already really beautiful my guitar, now it is even more beautiful! And one would actually see a real Nashville! I advise everyone to do that! Euuh ... though not in fact - I would lose my originality ....
