Floating ebony bridge
Bigsby tailpiece license
Maple neck, rosewood fingerboard.
Two microphones FilterTron blacktop.
A micro volume, a general tone, a master volume (very handy!)
Very nice finish, impeccable quality of stringed instruments.
It is a beautiful guitar, it has a terrible look in transparent red!
UTILIZATION
Handle very nice, access to acute is no problem, the guitar is light and very comfortable, the settings are effective and easy to get good sounds.
The typical Gretsch sound is there, even if it is rather to address the most versatile styles: blues, rockabilly course, british'pop and even funk, ideal for vintage sounds ... bossa and jazz are just made affordable with the neck pickup.
SOUNDS
It suits me perfectly for the styles I play (again blues pop rock) and is even more versatile than I thought. It perfectly complements my staff from scratch (U.S. Standard Stratocaster, Telecaster and Hofner solid body of 1963)
I play Fender Hot Rod Laney VC15 and the dynamics are excellent, compressed sound to perfection.
It is a typical vintage guitar that perfectly expresses with a good amp lamps.
The clean sounds are clear and crystalline, my preference going to the middle position. Neck pickup sound is round, full and rich, with great sustain and is more aggressive pickup without being garish (nickel for Chuck Berry riffs!).
Crunches sounds going very well on the three positions up to a saturation quite acceptable, but hang on, zero feedback, despite the absence of a central beam.
With a short delay, a hint of tremolo and double trouble tube screamer is happiness!
OVERALL OPINION
I do not use since its purchase, there 10 days, but I did loose more!
I tried the full range of archtop Epiphone (casino, dot, Emperor Swingster, wild cat, Sheraton ...), other gretsch (5120) and the vikings in Hagstrom, I owned an Epiphone Riviera , and frankly there is no picture!
Particumièrement I appreciate the look and finishes, she really face!
I like both typed his gretsch, vintage, and versatility.
Admittedly, this is not a U.S. Gretsch or Gibson ES, but it is not the same budget!
I think once changed the original strings (middle), and after a good pass from my luthier it will fill me for long.
Eventually, I plan to replace the pickups with TV Jones, and there it should be a real killer for less than 1000 € ... that you ask?
I remake the same choice again in this price range, in connection with my modest
