Gretsch G6120W-1957 Nashville

High-end Gretsch made in Japan. The violin is impeccable. The Japanese are today and violin since the early 90 excellent in many other brands (see fender). (Better than some US? ...)
This is a semi hollow body 6120 country western, the only difference being that it has a micro Fralin P90 in the neck position.
The bridge, as on most guitars Jazz, is floating. but can be attached to the adhesive if necessary.
The aesthetic is gorgeous, very attractive line.

UTILIZATION

The handle is very nice, the action is low, the game is really easy.
The guitar is light and well balanced.

SOUNDS

The sound is pure and crystalline intermediate position on the easel. Duller and thicker in the neck position.
Curiously, although they have not all the same violin, the sound may be similar to a Telecaster 50s, and less flapping, with frequencies less aggressive acute, and endowed with more depth in the bass.
This guitar is sweet, as in the game in its sounds. The low output level of his microphone has the advantage to really amplify the sound, the sculpt at will: They add a multitude of different effects pedals, everything I tested, Overdrive, distos, boost, modulation different, stand out wonderfully in a mix. We can turn up the gain and volume of the amp without limits to highlight the extraordinary timbre of this guitar.
So this is a very versatile guitar, contrary to its looks might suggest.

OVERALL OPINION

I use this instrument for 8 years. I am delighted.
This is an unusual instrument but I saved the day on a lot of prods.
It's not the guitar I use most but it has its place in music that I do, Pop, Folk, Rock ...
It is also a question of feeling. I fully understand that others can blame him a lack of character. I think just the opposite.
I give him a lot of advantages. I would have more, I miss her terribly.

It is a Gretsh made in Japan, as high-end Gretsh present with few exceptions. The American dream, whatever. The body is maple, there is a micro volume, tone and overall volume. There is a simple and a Gretsch Lindy Fralin P90. The handle is fine, violin making is impeccable.

SOUNDS

I was a little disappointed with this guitar. The sound is not ugly, but I find lack of character. I feel we do not feel the case. The output level is low which is surprising, especially for the P90. It sounded weaker than my Start! I did not find the rich sound of guitars in Gibson Fund for example. Here there are fewer and fewer low-medium.

OVERALL OPINION

I really liked the aesthetics, shape, decoration, with the exception of G on the body. But the sound does not really suit me, I exchanged against a Gibson. It's a little image I have of Gretsch is beautiful, but the lack of class in my opinion. A guitar collectors in all.
