"Designed in Germany", but assembled in China I think.
In excellent workmanship! The finishes are really impeccable and very successful sunburst.
The maple smells good living, robustness and provides a very original sound, even when the guitar is unplugged.
The basic settings were relatively ok, however the passage in the luthier is required to get the best.
Pearly finishes are superb.

UTILIZATION

Lacquered handle is very comfortable to touch. I, who am not a fan of typed sleeves Gibson, Fender fan, I was pleasantly surprised by the ease of playing that gives this guitar.
Even if the body is by definition "very thin", very thin and light, I have to feel any discomfort while. The guitar does not sting the nose and personally, I find it well balanced.
Access to acute is easy but, as mentioned above, to make the most of this guitar, especially in the treble, we must take it to a luthier to make the standard settings.
Personally I play with strings 011/048, lighter reduces the stamp of this marvel.

SOUNDS

Very eclectic, I play blues, gypsy, lofi, indie ...
His unusual and unique sound adds a grain, a very special bracket.
The range of sounds available is wide, any remaining time Etoufee slightly (very light).
I play with a VOX AC100 Plugge a cab VOX V412, and it sounds not dégeu.
I love what it offers in the bass, unique sounds that surprise me every time.

OVERALL OPINION

I use it for a year now and you'll understand, I'm hooked!
I have a small collection, ranging from 72 to telecaster custom Jaguar HH special, and this guitar has everything a strangely large for a low price.
If you find one, jump on the opportunity, this guitar is a gem.
If I had to buy this guitar for one reason or another, I would do it 1000 times.

Made in Germany ... to confirm what was said by a previous user!
I was endorser by them in 2008/2009 and I went visited the workshops. Their work is outstanding and are listening to their customers! Only electronics comes from Asia.

I remain, despite the fact that I was endorser by them Oblectif!

I changed the neck pickup for a microphone at Duesenberg .. but the difference is not obvious, the original microphone does a good job .. if so!

The guitar are very good especially for the price!

Of course I would do the same choice! Moreover, they have other cheap and very interesting models!

Chinese violin (yes bin a half box at this price huh) but with a schedule of charges and serious quality control quite Germanic.
Maple or spruce top (the specs are contradictory ...), maple neck, central beam spruce, stopbar tailpiece and bridge tune-o-matic, quite standard configuration (2 humbuckers each with its own volume and tone controls and a 3 positions). What is not standard is the body thickness, thinner than most solidbody, which provides playing comfort despite the size of the box.
The neck profile is a C hair a little thicker than the profile "slim type" Gibson, 1mm over, it's enough to make a difference but not enough to turn the handle log, instead it makes my more comfortable taste and CUNE friend of mine who has very small hands is just perfect.
The violin is of good quality (it feels and it is), very clean finish - in fact almost flawless (a tiny defect on the binding inside a horn on mine, but even knowing where I see it is not the first time, it's really brief history of nitpicking) - the frets are leveled and do not exceed, in short, as I said earlier, even if the Asian manufacturing quality achievement breathes seriously.
Setting mine (purchased from Thomann) was pretty dismal by against, but half an hour later (time to change the strings, check the curve and adjust the action and intonation) the guitar was in perfect condition. The hardware is not high end but nonetheless done his job - no problem adjusting or tuning stability, just horrifying bzz small wire that holds the screws on the bridge saddles.

UTILIZATION

In use, the handle is very comfortable, with a good grip without making log, the only flaw in my opinion is the poly varnish "gloss" that deserves a little frosted (I make the most of my guitars anyway). The fine box (more than Tele) is also very practical, despite a slightly higher than an area ES was not that feeling of having "open arms", they found contrary to their natural position.
The guitar is very light and well balanced, it is soon forgotten (physical huh <g> ), And requires only a few seconds of adaptation from a solid body - in fact the main "trap" (for me) is the largest distance between the strings and knobs. Access to acute is excellent, almost as good as a SG.

SOUNDS

At the point of his view, has the qualities expected of a semi-hollow, this side both deep, warm, a little "woody" and lively, with a bit more gloss and responsiveness to attack on the type ES guitars. The pickups are quite correct for the price (see below for what I mean), and the most versatile guitar you can not think, of course we can go from jazz to blues to rock to indie big rock that task, but also, and in a much more brutal register (hard rock, grunge, stoner ...), where they do not necessarily expected. Obviously you have to manage the feedback but it is in this case much easier than an ES-like, and it quickly became a "feature" of this guitar more than a problem.

OVERALL OPINION

It&#39;s been a year and a half I use this guitar, and to my surprise I was able to use in a situation where I did not expect (oriented punk / grunge / stoner group). I had long wanted a semi-hollow and toured that fell within my budget (Epiphone, Hagstrom, etc. Ibby), without finding anything that really satisfies me, I bought this one in without Thotho be able to try it in advance and waiting for me to return half of the week ... frankly I do not regret it, I honestly think this is the best current half body in this price game - the hardware and pickups are generally what you would expect at this price point, the violin enough above competition, and she has a personality that is lacking in its competitors.

Now make no mistake, for this quality at this price, even with an Asian production need to save somewhere, and as usual it is on the hardware and pickups. Not that Hofner is below this alternative point of view, but it is not over, in fact it is exactly the same as on a Epi Sheraton (bling-bling gold less) or Hagstrom Viking reissue, but the quality of the violin well justified upgrades, including the bridge, the capas and microphones.
For my part I upgraded mine with an easel tone-pro, the Russian PIO capas and a pair of Bareknuckle RiffRaff (to accentuate the brilliant and biting of this guitar, I could choose to Stormy Mondays instead increase vintage side) - knobs (alpha) is in my opinion (after a few weeks of testing) of sufficient quality to be preserved - and even if this guitar was already perfectly usable and very nice before, the quality of violin is really revealed after this mod, knowing that BKP pickups do not forgive anything, just as they magnify the defects that the qualities of a guitar. From this point of view, except make it a little more obvious one or two "dead spots" on the handle (but there are very few guitars that do not have this problem, I met him on LP Custom Shop 4000 + €), guitar passes the test with flying colors.

To summarize: no, of course not as good a guitar that upscale ES (or vintage Gibson Custom Shop, Greco 80s etc), but in my opinion (after testing a bunch of half -cases) and by far the best in this price range (with perhaps some Ibby but I can not hang with, I find too clean and "neutral", I prefer shovels with character), and unlike Epi (dot and sheraton - which is ultimately a dot "gold-plated") justify largely invest in upgrades. In addition it is beautiful, it does not hurt.

resolutely indie guitar rock in my opinion. It comes off very well the other instruments thanks to its harmonics.
the micro bridge has a very good offense, like a 335. The neck pickup lacks a little mellow but coupled with the easel is a wonder. Even clear the bridge pickup is at the limit of saturation is very enjoyable to play.
Of course no one buys a "semi acoustic" without knowing what it starts (risk of feedback and lack of definition in some configs, ...)

Custom 77-Needles & Pins 2.0 (but then its super huge. Unfortunately finishes fair. 575euros but the damage to V1 are much better)
A.-Ibanez.
none of the latter are both finite. The only problem is the hardware.
Basically, I was looking for a Samick Sheraton plants but one finishes are not constant and two microphones are changing and three prices start to buckle.
Still hesitate to change the neck pickup for a slightly more bluesy sound, but I fear it does not fit as well with the bridge.

OVERALL OPINION

I was looking for a guitar style ES335 budget conscious ... the choice is quite broad, and above all I chose for her Verythin handle 44mm wide at nut, a little wider so that the standard often revolves around 42/43mm.
Level violin is really good value. Almost perfect finish, a sunburst of good taste and very successful, and flamed maple gives it a really key class. The look differs from Epiphone DOT and other copies of 335, I really like. Even the pickguard which I found rather ugly in photo (from the pickguards Hofner ca is not their forte!) Goes better in reality.
The neck is slightly wider than the average to the nut, which I like. The profile of the handle is quite a modern C, not too meaty, I also appreciate. Straight handle, frets well finished ... really nothing wrong side of violin making.
The guitar is light body "very thin" obviously. Besides the ca stung a little head, the balance is not perfect the shot.
The pickups sound good after an adjustment rather high, I'll have to compare it directly with references to Gibson or Heritage for example ....
For plots against some adjustment pickups are crappy, they are screwed / unscrewed when they are not running, they seem to run into space, bizarre and not too reassuring ...
Fittings and overall is not terrible mechanics are pretty with pearl style buttons, but do not well agree. We feel that the bridge is a little cheap and will not withstand many settings over time. The knobs are also buttons IRONMONGER. The nut appears to be plastic. The new electronics are OK, but given the rest of it is questionable if ca will not crachouiller quickly.
But good violin making is remarkable for this price why not, and deserves to receive an upgrade in equipment ... one hundred dollars costs and I guess we should get a nice little scratch for a very reasonable budget still

With 2 humbuckers, custom made, hand, and directly by Hfner, sparments used, and in mountains SERIES simultaneously in their use.
2 volume knobs, one for each microphone, and 2 knobs bass / treble, micro Obviously - SERIES mounting allows great variability of composition possibilities of sound.

The quality of violin is absolutely glare for a guitar of this price (indeed, even for three times the price, it will remain glare! - Which certainly n&#39;tonnera nothing to those who know the brand hfner).

UTILIZATION

The handle is trs enjoyable playing for a jazz guitar ... It is more enjoyable (personal preferences) than the gibson same format.
Access in acute is smooth, and allows tural VLOC (thank you cutaways) - although Obviously, the format of the guitar is not optimum for playing the hard rock bottom balloons by double tapping the top of the handle ...
The ergonomics are excellent, the guitar is extremely good balance is the knowledge of Hfner!

IMPORTANT: The format of the body, from the makers of the research mentioned above, is indict (I know): the table is very much larger than the gibson 333 (5 or 8 cm Diameter ), and the body is much less than Paisse guitars usually in this format (about 2cm in thickness only Hfner).

The sounds are kind Hfner: it - that we do in the soup but in a clear soup, which the notes are distinct even in agreements trs tr s rich. This is the big diffrence trs my experience with Gibson, who are more than pchues Hfner, but the good trs Gibson (old ..), the rich sound arrangements and narrow search - the magic o Hfner dcoupe with the rare distinction and a great soup!

You can play a clean sound (jazz, and other adventures), we can make cruncher with great happiness, you can play the blues without difficulty - knowing that it sounds much more smooth (though trs of distinct, cf. above) a good old single coil strat! APRS is a matter of got - I also love the electric blues with this guitar!

Personally, twenty eight years of technical and musical rflexion (which have simplified my pedal board normment) do I use the fawn follows:
The signal comes into my prampli, then I DDouble its signal, the APRS prampli, thanks to a BOSS LS2 (simple), to maintain a cot a signal without any change and the other, a modified signal only in that I added a chorus, only on medium or low frquences guitar.

Handmade in the workshops of the family Höfner, luthiers for nearly a century and a half, originally specialized in the violin. They have long been concerned with issues of electric guitar (Paul McCartney, among others).

The quality is absolutely stunning violin for a guitar of that price (actually, even for three times the price, it will stay brilliant! - Which certainly will not surprise those who know nothing of the brand Höfner).

UTILIZATION

The handle is very comfortable to play for a jazz guitar ... It is nicer (personal preference) than gibson the same format.
Access to the treble is smooth, and allows true velocity (thank you cutaways) - although, of course, the format of the guitar is not optimum for playing hard rock as loud as double tapping the top of round ...
The ergonomics are excellent, the guitar is extremely well balanced, the knowledge of Höfner!

IMPORTANT: The format of the body, using research luthiers mentioned above, is unprecedented (to my knowledge): the table is pretty much bigger than the gibson 333 (5 or 8 cm in diameter), and the body is much thinner than on the guitars usually in this format (only about 2cm thick in Höfner).

This tends to give it a velvety rare, if not found, even played open.

Note: This specific poses no problem for the strictly required, balance, and the game (sitting or standing). To be honest, I do have noticed that when having to find a flight ...

I use a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe, which I changed all the preamp tubes with NOS and a combination of 12 personal and 12 AX7 AT7 (and I can not tell you how the amp is literally transformed in both the saturated channel, which I considered personally as unusable, as in the clean channel! - hey, that&#39;s irrelevant).
Can (must!) If possible use this guitar with a good tube amp - again, do not look at the price of the guitar, it is in-com-pre-hen-sible ...
The sounds are typed Höfner: that is to say that one does in the soup, but in a clear soup, whose notes are very distinct even in rich arrangements. This is the big difference that I saw with Gibson, which are more punchy than Höfner, but on very good Gibson (old ..), the agreements rich and tight sound messy - where Höfner cutting the magic with a rare distinction and a great soup!

We can play a clean sound (jazz and other adventures), we can make cruncher with delight, one can play the blues with no problem - knowing that it sounds infinitely more mellow (though very dis-tinct- cf. above) a good old single-coil strat! Following is a question of taste - I also love the electric blues with this guitar!

Personally, twenty eight years of technical and musical thinking (which have greatly simplified my pedal board), do I use it as follows:
The signal into my amp, then I splits its signal after the preamp, through a BOSS LS2 (simple) to keep one side, a signal without modification, and the other a modified signal only in that I added a chorus, only the midrange or bass guitar.

For the crunch (blues or jazz rock), I add in the loop of a chorus distrotion Mesa Boogie tube again, and pedal ... and I&#39;ve also replaced the bulbs - if! - So I always mix with the original sound without saturation, which I manage the mesh with a volume pedal and with the intensity of the attack.

All returns in the power amp, and before the decibels and finesse!

First, do not rvons, this guitar is not made in Germany ... only the original sries are, but we dbourser 5 times more expensive ... This is a classic Asian manufacturing, according to the specifications of home Hfner. For about 450, is in the range of other Epiphone and Ibanez beginners range, but with a character inherited both the original era of Verythin.

The "trim" is impeccable, very well produced, glue, mounts. A handle without default, a credit very well finished, flawless varnish (not a bubble). For hardware, there is drinking and eating. The most cheap, so slecteur pickups and knobs of rglage: no big problem, they can easily change.

The pickups have a more than adequate, it will see their performance over time. No vibrato, and so much better.

UTILIZATION

Channel off lightly, but fawn all I do not intend to attempt speed records with my small fingers thick and short, round Acun not really suit me. on the other hand it is comfortable, the hand slides very easily.
