Model in the spirit of the brand guitars of 50 years, Gibson also very close to the same period (ES-150) ...
Chinese manufacture of good quality
Spruce for the table, maple for the neck and the rest, rosewood for the fingerboard (he announced an ebony button on their website ... then a Chinese ebony ...
17-inch body, nickel fittings, flexible and precise mechanics.
A Höfner 515 humbucker. Beautiful glossy varnish vintage burst.
The assemblies are made, no sagging varnish. Only small downside, I had to make a good adjustment to handle the arrival of the instrument because it bordered lot. Once done, everything is OK.
Guitar comes in hard case simple and effective.
The guitar is quite heavy. Ergonomics can play sitting or standing without worry. The use and location of the pots are no problem.
The neck is quite thick, profile or Les Paul Gibson ES 50. In line with all of the guitar. The frets have been polished, it's nice.
Good jazz big-mama, fun, endearing.
This Höfner can play acoustic. It sounds not too bad. Equipped with suitable ropes I think she must be doing quite well. We must not forget that she wants to re-editing tool that at the time had just been electrified and the origin of which was acoustic.
Plugged into an amp or acoustic lamp ... pleasant surprise, even very good. I find the single humbucker excellent. Clear, well articulated, although showing the attack of the pick or the gentle fingers. This is not a Classic 57, it has a little more color in medium. I love the sound that comes out of this guitar.
I wish I had a New President ... not the budget. So I'm tempted by the manufactures affordable brand. I am not disappointed. I chose this model without pan-cut because I like what I need archtop that guy. And then his little es-150 style attracted me.
Finally, a well made instrument, without significant omission or error in design / manufacturing. Specifications for a tight tight budget with a more than acceptable result. A nice surprise side humbucker, it sounds.
Knowing adjust a guitar, I have not been distracted by the fact that to receive a frieze. A glance at the sleeve showed me that there was nothing serious and that an adjustment would put things right. However, this may put off potential buyers. A luthier you will do this for twenty euros (or much more if the neck is twisted ... but right now it is better to refer to the seller).
For the price, this archtop in retro feel is a good choice, I recommend it.
