Hybrid Amplifier (lamp + MOSFET) 100W RMS:
Preamp Transistor (OD 1) or 12AX7 tube (OD 2)
Power amplifier transistor (MOSFET)
Volume effects loop
Reverb Clean and Overdrive
Connectors on the back:
effects loop
Output HP (2)
headphone
footswitch (supplied)
Three different channels:
Clean channel: volume, Equalizer
OD 1: gain, volume
OD 2: gain, volume
EQ common to both overdrive bass / mid / treble
On paper nothing special .. not only on paper in fact! 6 / 10
UTILIZATION
The configuration is quite easy ...
I got it used and I did not have the manual, I do not know whether or not there. Anyway it is not useful.
A little detail ...
Clair is:
In the light the config could not be simpler rule on its volume, equalizer and optionally a rule you set the low pass to cut the bass. It comes out very quickly and easily obtained a good clear sound despite the absence of light in the amplification.
Overdrive 1:
All be clear here ... it's very difficult to get its own (in both senses of the term ie clean / neat and clean / staff.
Overdrive 2:
One senses here the presence of the lamp (12AX7) in preamp.
That said without pedals or additional rarely find a great sound that kills everything.
5 / 10
SOUNDS
Clair is:
Surprisingly for me the highlight of this amp is the clean sound. Easily adjustable lens with a sometimes EQ adjusted, if necessary greasy and heavy. With short spring reverb (good quality) you get a very good clear sound.
Overdrive 1:
It's bold, it's dirty ... it's marshall you say.
Despite the equalizer is a huge gallery to find a good sound quality as the overdrive is bad.
I ended up personally by this obscure overdrive.
Overdrive 2:
It's always dirty but less fat and more settled.
The distortion is pretty good and its very distinctive rock (see hard rock / metal with knob gain a background).
The sound is really bad ... 3 / 10
OVERALL OPINION
I have been using 4 / 5 years (last used ...).
Plus: Complete level connections, settings and options (footswitch etc. ...).
Cons: The weight, the bad and bold, the absence of the floor lamp in an amplification overdrive ... and so many other things to think about it ... I dare (Ula) .
The price / quality ratio is quite poor. Save At that price a little and buy an all-tube RANDALL RG50 ...
With the experience I would do not have that choice ...
