UTILIZATION

Drivers Creative = ZrO illogical and boring any other imaginable default

KX Driver (www.kxproject.com) = Cool routing capabilities of in, out, etc. Asio, Full Control of EMU 10K2 chipset of the card (the same as the maps EMU APS)

GETTING STARTED

Latency 20 ms with KX drivers
Drivers KX stable (no crash li driver in 3 years)
Runs simultanment read, I can not say this dpend as the rest of the config
Supports up to 24bit 48Khz
signal to noise ratio while fine for a card of this price

Asio a bus on a line out and line out on a igh 2 2 outputs so stro Difference.

For homestudio basic and does not ncessitant card with lots of outputs.

Before you get carried away and buy a pro sound card, not bad for commencr

I use this card to make a small home studio "modest" but correct.

It connects the following configuration:
- Motherboard ASUS-Deluxe P4C800E
- Pentium 3.2 GHz 800 FSB
- Memory 1 GB DDR SDRAM 400 MHz
- Hard drive Maxtor UDMA 133 200 GB

I use it with the instruments and Systmes following:
- Mixer Mackie 1402-VLZ
- Listen Yamaha MSP-5
- Graphic EQ numrique Behringer DEQ-2496 Ultracurve
- Effect Behringer Virtualizer Pro numrique external DSP-2024P

Uses all the connections up signals symtriques ds as possible (from the table, but not before ...)

UTILIZATION

Installation is no problem if you have the correct drivers ... Otherwise, the horror!
Creative not knowing their same o not know they are drivers that provide up to 25 30 MB (downloader easy for our friends who still have a dial-up DBiT ...)

These drivers are trs heavy non-performing for use REALLY music (not for games).

To this is grafted knowing other drivers drive the creative component of mre like notament KX Project drivers are actually more efficient. Not always empty at first, and interface a little too DCORE dtriment to the readability and effectiveness ... But their importance is significant as it not rely on Creative to get what you want!

In terms of incompatibility not, no worries meeting. Yet I have this card on port configurations diffrent I knew (IIP 500 today ...) connatre without worries.

The manual is clearly not sufficient, but it helps to learn things not found elsewhere such as the location of a jumper on the module for numrique impdance Defines the microphone (default connect to small microphones PC capacitors ...)

In its Global can not say anything. Ds, but we want to REALLY go around all the features indicated by the manufacturer, that's another story!

GETTING STARTED

For Creative drivers, if there are good, yes, they are stable but not suitable for professional use since not Asio ...

When using the KX Project drivers is much better but still complicated (22 ms).
I also want to add that there is also a solution simpler than my taste KX Project which is a small pilot called gnrique Asio4All and allows to use the ASIO latency any respectable (in 23 ms).
Given the complexity of the cart I personally use the latest driver prfre given the diffrence low latency.

I use this card often with:
- SONAR XL
- Cubase VST
- SoundForge

All software exploit come some good ... prs

Element prciser j'apprcie that is its dynamic and its sound quality is relatively good.
Its pretty clear who can maintain a good momentum which is not the case with all sound cards in this price range.

OVERALL OPINION

I use this card for 7 years now without having known of particular concern.

To know that my ERRF possde the same card that has had concerns about noise from the rear panel line ... These parasites appeared taient spontanment have now disappeared in the same Manir without explanation.

I think for the price I have what it takes far ...

Today, wanting more and more professional sound hardware, I do not think I would resume this card, but I do not grant the same budget either ...
If j'tais always in the same price range, yes, I would do without this choice problem! : O)
