« Fender GC 23S »
Published on 12/27/02 at 15:00Well Once upon a time back in 1964, I owned a Silvertone acoustic and kept it for three or four years, till my brother decided to make kindling out of it. Well I never forgot that but anyway, he gave me a slightly used Fender GC 23S for Christmas this year. Its a real beauty and sweet. Nice rich tone all up and down and across the fingerboard. Handles very well. Even played a little blues on it with a home made slider make out of a empty wine bottle. Just take you a long staight neck wine bottle,(one your slider finger will fit in) tie a string around the neck, squit lighter fluid on it light it, let it get hot and break it off. Then do the same on the other end. Sand down both ends and you got one. My brother said he gave $250.00 for it. I give it a five and forgive my brother.
Great sound. Good looks. Performs with a personality and responsive.
I dont know yet.
Mahogamy back and sides, spruce solid top, rosewood fingerboard, chrome tuners and rosewood bridge.Grand concert sized body.
I give it a five.
