«  The balance! »

Value For Money : Poor
Jumbo guitar has no reference to his long and continuing. Heard on numerous recordings and on stages for 60 years.

UTILIZATION

The handle is round, a small C very comfortable.
The fund, rather bulky provides excellent maintenance of the instrument.
The model I own does not frieze. The action is low and the bars have never been so easy to play on the term. Mine is mounted with a preamp AURA a hallucinatory quality. I'd rather the usual type of microphones M1 active, but modeling has given me mixed with Piezo better result on stage.

SOUNDS

This guitar is very versatile. Picking, strumming, country, rock, folk.
Easier to play down the handle than other gibson (between 7 and 10th box eg, lower on the folk I'll never).
It is an instrument that dominates my mind.
I tried and owned a lot of folks before stopping on this instrument. Of Gibson J45 (excellent), Hummingbird, the Martin D28 (charming), D35 (Dry flattering but hard to add sound).

The J200 is the best balanced!

It is a delight in recording studio. Easy to add sound, regardless of the axis selected by the sound engineer (Mono, XY, ORTF ,...), it will always be on the tape the sound that makes all the difference.
Very nice on stage too. The treble is never over-bright, cold never invasive. And yet this guitar exudes a beautiful power.

On the power and volume:
I often read that this guitar off a high SPL. Not true! It is certainly having a big hands jumbo that made us believe it unconsciously. But I played several J200 and whenever I was surprised that some Dreadnougt emerged more volume (D45, D35).
It's a bit like the J200 compressing itself all frequencies excessive. That's exactly what his strength. That is precisely why we bit more to him "fit in" and make him get out of wholesale levels, wood! We can play it louder than the guitar above.
And again, the balance remains. This guitar meets all the nuances of the game

OVERALL OPINION

I use it for 10 years but I have a 2 years, bought new vintage as tested does not hold water, but one that was overpriced.
Moreover be careful not to buy guitars without trying. It's a bit trendy these days with the net. Some new J200 sound really worse than others, it's like all the others. Vintage and prestige does not mean. I met so-called mythical instruments sold very ones who had lost her altogether ...

What I like most:
- THE SOUND!
- Versatility, studio, stage, all kinds ...
- The ease of play
- The Aura preamp originally fitted.
- The neat violin (on mine ...)
- The look

What I like least:
- A big pile, but at the same time its curves give it the charm.
