Condenser large diaphragm variable directivity and PAD.

OVERALL OPINION

It has been nearly 7 years since I use it, I will not hurt others, but this is a MUST HAVE, and it is not for nothing!
This mic is a true Swiss Army knife.
I used both for voice (although I tend to prefer my tube microphones for that) for acoustic guitars, and even snare due to its directivity hypercardio avoiding repisses (including charley!) And the sound quality is always the rendezvous, balanced and sweet, the bass is present and detailed highs without being aggressive.
In short, it deserves its reputation

The value for money seems reasonable on AKG's flagship product.

I remake this choice good to have a pair to Over Head, but I focused on a wide range of microphones, just to have the choice.

OVERALL OPINION

Used collection's outdoor studio and for 2 months.
Corbe rponse linear from 40Hz to 3KHz with a bump of 2 dB until 4Khzpuis flat until 15Khz and a new 3dB bump up 18KHz. Flat and then up to 20KHz. (To read the curve rponse personalized).
Excellent dynamics. Essay on vocals and guitars. No staining. In a good lead vocal pramp lamp will add a little grain. (No track record in qualisation).

a couple in Stereo AB will be perfect for small organ or choir or overhead drums (although I prfre for this configuration with the addition of the XY microphone bass drum and one on the snare drum)

Yes, I possde a neumann tlm 127, one of c451eb chaez akg, is an electronics Z5600a, 2 sm 57, 1100 Tbone 1 sc, 1 rm 700 tape Tbone and bein I would note my comments as and mas able to compare, but I just dj tell you that it is level with the neumann, even it is close enough to the level of its color. I would compare Retailer thereafter.

The ratio quality price is excellent (especially since I ordered the United States the price Toal with port and customs charges is 560 for the nine (of course!)

The microphone comes in a nice briefcase with top mtal with suspension, pop filter and curve rponse of personalized MODEL (classiosse).
I record such important acoustic guitars (pumps gypsy type guitar selmer smith), type seagull folk guitar, bass, acoustic drums (still!) Percussionist of all kinds ... traversire flute, voice, etc ... all the religious and spl goldmike prsonus FIREPOD. Your exact is really excellent, and I am passionate about sound as straight and natural as possible (without compression or EQ!) O rigor to the art of recording.

The AKG C 414 B-XLS is the newest version of the ever popular 414 condenser microphone. I've mostly used a few different older models of the 414, but have used this a few times over a friend's small home studio/bedroom who has it. It's got a slightly different look to it than the other 414's, as this one has rounded off edges. In general it's a bit sleeker and more modern looking, although this doesn't affect it's use at all. It still has the same sound and features as far as I cant tell. The mic has five different polar pick up patterns to choose from, including omnidirectional, wide cardioid, cardioid, hypercardioid, and figure eight. It also has a three way pad and three position low cut switch. It's best suited in the studio, but could be used for live sound as well.

OVERALL OPINION

While I think all of the AKG 414's are pretty close in sound and ability, the AKG C 414 B-XLS is definitely as good as any of them. This is the one that I've used the least amount, as it hasn't been out for nearly as long as the other models. Again, I don't see any difference in sound between this and other 414's, so I'd say to go with whatever is going to give you the best deal. The AKG 414 in general is a very versatile microphone, suitable for use on all sorts of applications. I tried this particular out on vocals and acoustic guitar separately, but it's definitely suitable for all stringed instruments and for a variety of other purposes. It's overall one of the most versatile microphones I've ever used. The AKG C 414 B-XLS in particular might be the most expensive since it's the newest in terms of used models, so if you're looking for a used one it might be cheaper to get one of the older ones.
