Value For Money :
Excellent
Condenser microphone.
Large Diaphragm / transistor.
Low noise level. +
cardioid
18mv/Pa sensitivity, though.
Lightweight hollow-2db around 5kHz, no exaggeration, either.
OVERALL OPINION
For how long have you been using it?
2 months
I use in recording studio equivalents more upscale from a sacred moment: M149, U87.
What thing do you like most/least about it?
+: Unique name neumann, neumann sound, affordable price, size larger than tlm 102/103, so physical very pro
-: No variable directivity, normal for the price, anyway I do not will be served.
Did you try many other models before getting this one?
U87 and company, the better I think (I could never make comparison on the same day)
tlm 103, subtle difference (I think) on digi preamps 003. With a U87 is the difference ... subtle. Wholesale preamps on mid-range is all the same. On good preamps there will (probably) a net difference, but that it will be for the next episode.
AKG C414, many colors, I prefer the uk. A good mic anyway, not quite neutral, qed rarely optimal with respect to neumann (but sometimes if), in spite of good features.
Rode NT2, bof, fairly well, if one moves away from him when the decision is the end of beans in the treble. Well below (with preamps Digi003). It was the mix of horror, the grip (which was bad, because to me also) is not treatable, the equalizer inneficaces, all of its imprecise. It colors, and it is not subtle.
T Bone SC450, no comment, and final net difference, the last of all
Audio Technica AT2020, not bad, between the t bone and rode
So in the sound, yet I've tested only on votes where it is excellent. So it has a very good response to strong volume changes (not like the t bone), a low / medium low and this thick, clean, defined.
The hollow of 5kHz-2db does not flow much about the sound, I was afraid before purchasing this microphone that lack of medium but in the end it is a trifle. Good performance in frequency throughout the spectrum.
Nothing to do with mid-range microphones, it was the seriousness here.
What is your opinion about the value for the price?
hey, we put the price was the quality
appropriately priced, quality is much higher than the cheaper models that I met. It is an audible difference for many and flagrant. For good models, we must listen and try to better quality equipment.
Knowing what you know now, would you make the same choice?
yes
but in Gefell, Neumann, Braun, blue there may be equivalents interesting too. It is true that having a neumann class is also more pro.
