I have had a lot of experience with Studio Projects microphones (many models), but the TB1 is a valve microphone that uses some of the highest quality materials and parts to create its sound. When using the TB1 you will notice right away the natural sound, and warm tone that you will get with your vocals. The TB1 by Studio Projects is one of the best in the “B” line of microphones that they have come out with, and it is also probably the most expensive. You wont need to purchase this microphone for your home set up. It is just to costly to invest in getting this to record demo’s in your spare bedroom. The TB1 wasn’t created for the home musician, it was manufacture using the best quality parts to give the best quality sound possible. I have heard microphones that cost almost 4 thousand dollars not sound as good as this though, so the value of a microphone that you are going to get for the money is excellent.


OVERALL OPINION

The TB1 is very precise when recording and does very well not picking up any background noises or unwanted noises. You can use the microphone as is, and not have no clicking or popping problems. The tone you will get is very natural with almost a 0 background noise interference. I have very happy that I had the chance to use the TB1 several times, I do no own the TB1 but I do get a chance to use it a lot, probably around 2 or 3 times a month and each time I get a great sound. If I every open my own studio, this will be an easy decision to purchase for me. The best part about the TB1 is the fact that you will get a crystal clear sound when recording, and the downfall of that is that you can afford to purchase it for your home set up. But you have to take the good with the bad. It is a great microphone!

OVERALL OPINION

I've had three weeks and I did tests on male and female voices, guitar ... with a sche-comp-pramp Bellari equalizer (basic but lamp) and a small pair of M-Audio to finish on a Cubase.

APRS is your exact me trs impressive. The voices are warm trs, trs little legalization is necessary to make music, guitars, is impeccable from saying anything just be too big given the low ... I'm trs the tonn ct numrique a little too cold Submitted initially the M audio is gone ... be as pet-do of the pramp Bellari (350 ). Compared to the TLM103, the TB1 has nothing to envy, I find even more INTERESTED, more musical and it's certainly not the same price TB1 is around 550-600 euros vs 750-850 a pure TLM103 in France. We may even find it in germany 377 including shipping (allow 3-4 weeks).

To tell you I will order the C3 (multi-directional) of studio projects that would be according to several pro trs a good competitor of the Neumann U87 and this is not the same price either.

OVERALL OPINION

I've had a week and I could compare it to the studio and rode NTK project C1. It is a micro trs neutral, never aggressive in the treble as may be the C1. It happens everywhere, trs is versatile. I tried it on drums, vocals and acoustic guitar: trs is good. The RODE NTK is more flattering in the acute, without being too aggressive, but against it is much more expensive ...
Resustat: Tb1 is the relative quality of a great price! I pay around € 350 on soundsense.co.uk, and it can easily concurencer much more expensive mics (rode the COST € 650) ... the only thing it lacks both be a nice little neumman the grain ...

It is a micro light so ... Versatile as East studio, home studio for the price (345).

OVERALL OPINION

I use it for one month ... And it is impressive. I used to work with an AKG C2000B, pramplifli a Mindprint Di-port, and much is your exact l. OVERALL OPINION

I am the User for 1 year and jen am always happy trs.
Cest the tube microphone that I recommend to people who nont not a big budget.
Jai tried a few microphones before him and dacheter dailleurs jai make recordings of vocals, acoustic guitar and electric just to make comparisons.
Jai then able to compare the Rode K2 with TB1, LAKGEAS C4000B, the Neumann TLM103.
K2 did not like because it lacks brilliance and PForm my electric guitar sound.
The C4000B sounds a bit too cardboard and lack of shine. He restored dailleurs not correct my guitar sound (yes I am a guitarist trs require jai galr for ann es for the same sound as Vai, its not for me bitch micro quune my recordings).
The TLM103 dnature virtually no sound. It is fairly neutral but adding a bit of frquences acute. By adjusting the mix can be largely correct the default.
Finally the Russian TB1 jai record my electric guitar parts with exactly the sound I wanted to get. on the other hand for singing and folk guitar I prfre the TLM103, although the TB1 has a warmer sound it gives some color to the recordings (color nest but can not dplaisante Dranger Some purists).

OVERALL OPINION

I use the microwave for 4 months, and I try to catch DIFFERENT types: male voice, voice fminine and acoustic guitar.

Every time something came back: an incredible clarity, especially in view of the price of the microphone.
Compar a micro price equivalent as excellent as the Audio Technica AT4033, the TB1 is more clearer, Dfine and transcribing more nuance, articulation and dynamics.

The lamp colors that subtly, making it extremely versatile. The lightweight grain intake in the lower rev mdium is really nice, especially a male voice.
Note that the technology is perfectly matrise lamp: no breath (you can even compare the AT4033 is not yet a microphone output transformer, so with an extremely low noise). The power supply is also super quiet. Quite simply, if there would be no red light to signify that it is aluminum, you do not realize it would make.

In short, this is totally micro allucinant prices are seen. The definition has almost a Neumann for a price nearly 10 times infrieur. What you ask for?

I hsiter referrer that choice without a second.

Last update 15/04: I made a prod rcemment in a large studio and I used a Neumann U47, lamp so. Even if I was not able to make objective comparison with the TB1, it seemed that the U47 and TB1 had a signature sound relatively close: the same clear and even ar subtle heat in the lower mdium. Again, this is not a comparison of the cost because I prcis Neumann on the big studio monitors with a pramp Tube Tech, everything has a SSL install a pice acoustics deals, while in my project studio, there's the Dynaudio BM5A a pramp Focusrite, a Mackie 8-bus and a non-acoustic line. Anyway, having repatriated home recording made in the large studio, and comparing my homemade prods the TB1 does not seem to have much to envy Neumann. Anyway, see other opinions on the Net, many of his ingnieur are bleuffs the Studio Project.
