Finally arrived ... After one month of discussions with Jeff to find a distributor in France because I had no opportunity to go to U.S., LLC is Willow's with Xavier Martinez at the controls selected. Negotiated price (around € 4000, ouch!), Some special requests for the guitar (locking tuners and strap locks) ... It warns me of boot manufacturing the guitar. Two more months of waiting and Croc Skin comes in ... Superb. No other word to describe it. Shipped in a box (heavier than the guitar, with 6 gold closures), I try and ... and yes, it sounds great. Surprise, the guitar is actually quite light, lighter than a Gibson Les Paul. comparable to a Start, this is what will play without breaking your back.
The neck is now very pleasant, easy, fast, far more than my custom Trussart James I use now for 10 years. The Croc Skin is really very beautiful. Height string snug, but there is little margin. The frets are perfectly adjusted, no buzz, even after gaining a little on the high ropes. And sustain ... It's interesting as this guitar "sounds", even if not connected. Perhaps the quality of the violin at the set neck (22 frets, jumbo frets). Access to high notes is facilitated by a smooth transition between neck and body, yet thick enough.
Beautiful palette of sound, bienqu'assez marked "hard rock" part of the use of 2 humbuckers (gold too). Big sound and sustain guaranteed. The pots are flexible knobs pots in solid gold too. A nice attack on the treble, and in the neck position, a pretty well rounded. And when you put the distortion, there is a beautiful palette for these bold blues sound "current" very serious and a little deaf. Distortion in the bridge position and there are all the harmonics you can dream, or a little less distortion, a heard clearly on the treble, where all the strings are heard.
Finally arrived without the lock tuners nor the strap locks (little lack of attention from DBZ, a little bad for this price), the Croc Skin is a great guitar, a little crazy at the purchase but when you love .. . Willow's me sent the parts to change strap locks and tuners. That's cool. Very good follow-up by Xavier Masson. I intend to eventually add a piezo bridge, just to extend the range of sounds ...
