« Epiphone Les Paul Standard »

I bought the guitar from a guitar shop that is now out of business. Price $550.

While I was searching for a Fender Strat, this Les Paul was found gleaming in a corner. After playing it for a while I had to have it. Good fretboard feel. Great classic sound that matches the more expensive Gibson models. Even with the classic pickups the distortion crunched with the best of them! Oh...and the finish....very nice.

The bridge sticks up high from the surface of the guitar making it difficult to play if you are not used to it. It's just as heavy as the Gibson Les Paul’s. I thought it was very well made. If you look very close at both Gibson and Epiphone guitars you will see that Gibson uses AAA top grade woods. Epiphone uses a lower grade but is still good quality. If you want a Strat there's nothing wrong with that but give the Epiphone Les Paul a try.

If you want a Gibson Les Paul, again give the Epiphone a try. In my opinion it plays just as well at the fraction of the price.
