2 Max for Cats synths on sale at Ableton’s
Ableton welcome to its Max For Live effect and instrument family the developer Max for Cats, with two virtual synths.
Ensemble, which inspiration comes from the string synths from the 1970s, features two voices, each with a pair of oscillators and a choice of triangle or rectangle waveforms and pulse width modulation. An LFO is also included for speed and intensity and you can modulate the oscillator pitch with the vibrato via aftertouch. Ensemble also features an ADSR envelope and 10 types of formant filters with morphing on an XY grid. Last, you’ll find an effect section comprising independent chorus and phaser, as well as saturation and EQ.
DiGiTaL is an 8-voice polyphonic synth that combine additive, subtractive, wavetable and FM synthesis. Two oscillators are available, which waveshape is created mathematically via additive synthesis and frequency modulation, and then stored in a wavetable that can be modulated. You’ll find standard wave shapes presets but can also create your own waveforms by drawing partials, their amplitude and phase as well as frequency modulation and its phase.
The synth also include a multimode filter and two LFO with 7 waveforms and phase control, 4 ADSR envelopes and a pitch envelope that allows for creating a descending modulation. A modulation matrix is included, as well as a chorus, EQ, saturation/distortion, sub-oscillator and dual sequencer (one for parameter, always active, a a note sequencer with 4 playback modes).
Each Max for Cats Ensemble and DiGiTaL virtual synth is available for the special price of 20€ instead of 29€ until Friday.
