I just got it today, so I can advise hot on the use of this instrument directly out of the box.
First positive point, it comes with all necessary cables to connect to the computer and / where (in my case) to the MIDI interface distributed by KMI. It costs 38 € and that's not the foot but it is essential for me to drive a synthesizer Moog Slim Phatty. There is also a mini jack adapter jack for expression pedal and a protective cover (fine but it's the thought that counts).
It takes very little time to hook them up and run the machine. In one quarter of an hour is all set up and ready to go. Already visually, it's pretty class and futuristic. The step 12 is revealed already a beautiful object that contrasts with the competition, it tends rather to tanks roland type PK-6. The editor PC / Mac also offers many opportunities for modification and customization that will delight tweekers and should allow you to configure the
12 Step to respond to toe and eye of each musician. I chose to work without a computer and it's a little painful for me to have to go through it but today, we take either the train or on foot to rest.
To summarize, the step 12 is a small step for man one giant leap for the world controllers.
