Schecter CV-5 Diamond Series

Schecter CV-5 (2004)Published on 06/01/04 at 15:00
I picked this bass up in a music shop in London, it cost me £500 and was my first 5 string bass

The finish is a dark vintage sunburst and is gorgeous, the burnt chrome hardware really finishes the look, the duncan smith pickups are loud and clear and they look the business, this bass will look good whether your on stage playing rock, funk, jazz, metal or whatever, there is no buzz from the frets and the neck is comfortable and fast, I was a bit wary of a varnished neck but to my supprise it was just as fast and smooth as a wax finished neck on my old bass, I think shecter have used a particular varnish as varnished necks are usually sticky but not this one,the eq switch is great as I...…

I picked this bass up in a music shop in London, it cost me £500 and was my first 5 string bass

The finish is a dark vintage sunburst and is gorgeous, the burnt chrome hardware really finishes the look, the duncan smith pickups are loud and clear and they look the business, this bass will look good whether your on stage playing rock, funk, jazz, metal or whatever, there is no buzz from the frets and the neck is comfortable and fast, I was a bit wary of a varnished neck but to my supprise it was just as fast and smooth as a wax finished neck on my old bass, I think shecter have used a particular varnish as varnished necks are usually sticky but not this one,the eq switch is great as I play alot of slap and it gives me that extra sharpness I need, flip the switch back and its a warm smooth growl, I'm sure the four string plays just aswell.

I like pretty much everything, from the finish right down to the playability,

Nicely balanced, plays brilliantly, finish is gorgeous and is bolted on by six bolts, sustain is great

If your looking for a mid range bass buy schecter, you wont find anything better, this particular model is simply a great bass
