I am a drummer, and i decided i wanted to play guitar as well. I am a huge nirvana fan, so this was perfect since kurt cobain used a mustang 50% of the time. I bought it at the House of Guitars in Rochester N.Y. (the greatest music store on earth) for about $400.00...It was totally worth it!!!

First of all, the Candy Apple Red is a really buetiful color, and the stripes on the side adds a nice vintage, high school- garage rock look to it. The body almost molds to my body. It just works. The Neck's small size is great because i'm a small guy... The brigde is great too. It has all sorts of clean sounds possible. When its dirty, man its dirty. The Distortion is great.

It just works. The Neck's small size is great because i'm a small guy... The brigde is great too. It has all sorts of clean sounds possible. When its dirty, man its dirty. The Distortion is great.

I hate the pickup switches right above the low e string, they every once in a while get in the way of playing, but only sometimes. These were not made for hard rock or metal, so its a good idea to purchase hotrails for the bridge and/or get yourself a good distortion pedal.

Its really light weight...Its built brilliantly and everyone i see tells me how pretty it is. Its built so solid, i ocassionally bang the headstock on something, but it can take it and doesn't show alot of damage. I accedently droped it and it got some minor dings, but not any that have chipped (knock on wood). The guitar over all, is built very well for the price.

Oviously by looking at my review, i'm a big talker, but much is to be said about the mustang. For alternative rockers, it is a must. Its built nice, its extremly comptorable when sitting and standing, it sounds incredable, and looks oh so cool. It just rocks, don't waste your money on anything else.

it's my friend's guitar. her dad paid a couple hundred back in the day.

it's so freaking AWESOME!!!!! the sound is pretty nice, but i cant tell cuz i only hear it thru a bass amp. but the build is incredible. the action is ....there is no space between the string and the fretboard it's that freaking amazing. it plays like a dream and the trem system is awesome, except it knocks it outta tune ...but very rarely.

uh... well... it could use more frets. but that's really it. it's incredible!

awesome. a bit heavy but it seems really sturdy

if you can find it, buy it. you wont regret it!

I acquired this from my local guitar store, i had them order it for me. I bought this and a tweed hardshell fender case for $590.

I love the color of the guitar, it says candy apple red, but it has a metallic feel to it. It also has a creme color tri-stripe on the lower bout. It plays well and the tremolo doesn't shoot it out of tune too much. everything was of good quality and the neck plays very nice and has decent sustain. Its very comfortable to play with the offset curves and such and i can play all the frets once set up correctly without any buzzing, but while maintaining a good action. fender didn't send a damn allen wrench, so i can't adjust much by myself, also i can't screw in the vibrato bar so its kinda not in. the pickups are a bit weak but with the switches offer a lot of tonal variety. All i can say about that is that i might change them up eventually, but as for now all i have to do is turn my amp up. Also, i wish they came with matching headstocks

Quality is good, just as i'd expect from fender. Nothing loose, nothing wrong really. the finish is beautiful and adds to the guitar's overall beauty. It was made in Japan, which in my opinion makes some of the top guitars, rivaled by the mexican and american fenders only. The action is good, everything seems to keep in tune. and i play everything from church music to punk to jazz to swing to rockabilly to good ol rock and roll. so its very versatile.

if i lost this, i'd probably wanna buy another one. its my favorite guitar and is easily one of the most unique and well played guitars i've ever ever played.

    UTILIZATION

The handle is pluttdroutant I, who was expecting a vintage Start neck bomb down I had the sensation of playing a round plutt modern. It is not the key is thick and flat, it was well in hand, however, and is enjoyable browse trs (the varnish does not suffer any default). Access in acute is correct, no prs as a stratum, we will say that this is not to imitate tudi petrucci solo blues but a nickel pass.
There is much talk of little sustain the mustang, it is certainly not exceptional but it can play a solo without problem above (I'd be a little difficult if not!) And then fuck those who want to sustain a 20s take a scratches neck through!
The weight is reasonable, we feel that we have something in the hands but without being obliged to go to the kin an APRS rpt.
As for the sound, the two switches prsentent a large variety of combinations but the average quality of the microphones can not use the bottom.

    SOUNDS

Unplugged it for mdiums Submitted highlighted and sounds rather dry. Industry ... it's not terrible. First point the neck pickup is more powerful than the micro bridge (even on my yamaha I was not that blow l. The pickups are also a trs output level low compared to normal.
The mic tone is very soft and velvety and pretty plain lightweight crunch perfect for blues, jazz etc ... but trs draft in saturation. The mic acute bcp gives its too dry and plain distortion makes a sound at once dirty and starved heat, it make the change for the better now can (for me a lil killer price for GFS safeguard the distortion). positions trs funk sound mixed in the phase-out positions, and the two mics in phase mlangent the characters of each, more in this mode there is no hum what apprciable trs. It is therefore not adapted to the metal. The sound is generally plutt cold (because of microphones).
    6 because of acute microwave.

    OVERALL OPINION

I bought it for 600 on Thomann (the dernire in stock! And is no longer manufactured), I fell immediately for her, too beautiful and the violin is more than good my gut. Only microphones "pchent", especially the bridge which is replacing me. The original configuration suitable mainly for clean sounds and LGERS crunch and a change of pickups would increase versatility.
This is a guitar's personality and well it should be taken into account but it is a good instrument for low trs that adopts an electronic match its quality. A super cheap scratch basically.

Japanese reissue of the '69 Mustang

The characteristics of alchemist seem correct.

    UTILIZATION

Like her sisters and other the Fender Jaguar Jazzmaster, it features a bridge into several pieces that require the expertise for proper adjustment. The accuracy has never been the preserve of this style of guitar but it is perhaps also what makes them so attractive.
The mail is not what either more obvious as the two single coil pickups are controlled by two 3-position switches (phase-off-off phase). Which provides for a total of 8 different pickup configurations (9-1, seen with the two switches in the middle, the two microphones are off).

The handle is like "student" as described on Fender, that is thin enough and very easy to play. It does probably not please the regulars of Strats and Ibanez even less.
The violin is good and the guitar comfortable.

    SOUNDS

The best word we can give this guitar is "light".
This is probably divided as many people about it. The pickups have an output level below the normal single coils and deliver a sound rather dry and crystalline.
Personally, I find that the sound is like the guitar, it has charm, character, ... It is, dare I say, feminine.
The relative lack of clean bass but, against, is very rich in the treble. The bridge pickup sounds quite aggressive and supports quite well the distortion. Obviously, given their level of output, the sound distortion and lack of density is not suitable to power rock or metal (together, the handle will not fit the technical and the look of the guitar gives it much thought is not made for big sound). But against the rendered distortion will still be fairly aggressive with its grain and more airy delight fans of noise music, alternative and punk.
The neck pickup has a higher output level, oddly. The sound is more balanced and warm. A vintage sound of choice which is very good sounding arpeggios and you can even indulge in some bluesy solos.

    OVERALL OPINION

This guitar will not please most rock guitarists by his lack of power but has a special charm that makes this guitar is a pearl in his style.
I never had the opportunity to test an original Mustang or a recent US edition so I can not compare but this Japanese reissue of very good quality.

+ The look and charm of vintage Fender
+ Sound guy who does not leave indifferent

    - Switches the two microphones not very practical for those who change their microphones ten times per song.
    - No obvious mechanical adjustments

See the features described by Alchemist below.

    UTILIZATION

This is a guitar very light, very fine-looking, very "surf". The handle is really small, and, if defeated by his frets a little thin and small, is relatively nice and holds up to play all styles.
It plays quickly and smoothly, the style "student" Fender is doing its office; we play effortlessly either agree or picking.
Unfortunately this type of handle like and dislike, it is very well made, but surely not please some people.

The electronics are a bit complex, especially for a guitar with two single coils.

    SOUNDS

This is a guitar that suits a lot of style, but a vocation that keeps punk / blues / surf ... You see the beach boys? hehe.
The sound is very dry and very clear, no jazzy tone here, the sound is a big slap acute and crystalline. A guitar that is very suitable for arpeggios.
In disto she is doing okay, the sound is a little stiff and banging, but it may be appropriate for the punk / skatecore & Company ...
In short, clear sound that cleaves the air, comlme crystalline diamond, but be careful, almost no gain and not much bass.

    OVERALL OPINION

In short, this guitar has a look undeniably successful, with the Fender. The handle like and dislike, as the guitar and the sound actually. A guitar to try before you buy, but which certainly will please many. The typical Fender, a guitar with lots of personality. A beautiful 9, it would have been 10 if I had the opportunity to try the original

Access to acute is no problem. The ergonomics are excellent, and finally to me. The guitar is small and light, a pleasure to play both standing than sitting.

If you get a good sound easy? Everything is relative. I would say yes.

Small negative point for the bridge: Disagree fast vibrato guitar, and I had some problems of buggery heavy rope in the beginning, but apparently it has managed ... I will add that to palm mute it a bit hot you have to find the right position with the hand becaufe the bridge is quite "bulky", Needless to say we should try before you buy.

    SOUNDS

The sound of this guitar are perfect for my type of music:

_for the lead much twang, or typed Shadows Indochina in the 80's, it's perfect
_for rhythms with a well typed indie Arcade Fire or FF: same thing, a little treat for you to have appropriate effects.

I play it directly on the speakers through my pedalboard Korg AX1500G, with amp simulation and effects get really all I want the foot.

This guitar has a very crystalline, pure Fender. Jaguar enthusiasts, Start and Tele another, you will find your happiness, but watch it even when his personality: you remember the guitar on the Adventurer in Indochina? It is this gem ... Smells like teen spirit of Nirvana? It also ...

Against it by the lack of serious, but it is not what is asked. She moved into the midrange and treble is his domain. A treat, I tell you!

The bridge pickup a little breath, the classic single coils ... careful with the distortion, consider a good noise gate.

Note also that way already mentioned below, the output level of the microphones is very small, indeed it is very annoying if you have any presets on your gear it will be necessary to adapt this guitar ... but she deserves.

    OVERALL OPINION

I own a Mustang for two months

    Most:

    _The Its
    _The Mouth
    _The Legend (for me)

    The -:

    _The Easel
_The Small volume of the microphones is not a tragedy but it's a shame

This guitar is very rare, if ever you find one, jump at the chance, that's what I did. It cost me $ 620 USD on ebay, price / quality ratio so excellent.

With experience, I definitely do it again this choice. I highly recommend to all lovers of sounds twang, punk rock and good old 60's, she excels in these genres. And even other ... it is a beautiful instrument.

The good sound, I would say yes, it is obtained very easily, just set the amp well. The pickups are low power, low bass, the sound is very distinctive. must be considered in the equalizer to the amp. Rhythm guitar par excellence.

    SOUNDS

    OVERALL OPINION

One year I have, I never left her ...
what I like most is the ergonomic ... so light, a small handle, fun to play ...
Obviously it's still the sound of pure fender ...
when I compare it to my Start, I would say that the sustain is shorter, the sound, most sec ... may be due to the fact that the strings do not cross the body of the guitar and the body in question is smaller than that of a stratum and 2 times finer, less resonance. The pickups also are less well defined, it sounds a little rough, but it is relative, it's still good sound ... less cozy than the Start ... more raw ...

since I play on the mustang, I do not touch most nearly the Start ... I think even to sell it ...

I bought the mustang € 400 used, it was dusty and chrome parts with a light green and some microphones deposit of rust ... I have everything disassembled, each screw, plates, microphones, vibrato .... cleaned everything ... the handle, chrome, body ... and suddenly I have here a beautiful guitar too ...

I would do without hesitation that choice ... can be a round with 21 even smaller boxes as it exists on some mustang, would suit me better ... I totally cracked on the handle that I tested in a shop in Pigalle ...

I love the sound, although there are probably better pickups ... rather than to change them, or get a double, I'll wait and point me to a fender cyclone in addition ...

The bridge is a "Fender Dynamic Vibrato". I want to emphasize that if we do not resolve properly, the vibrato guitar Disagree so monstrous ...
The handle is rather short (I have more in tune with the size of the head), rather thin and slightly rounded, but mostly fun! This is happiness for people who do not have long fingers!
Well, obviously it's anything but a guitar schredder ...
The body is small enough, and it is light ... légèèère! A joy to play up.
Mine is all black, it's more class.

    UTILIZATION

As mentioned above, the handle is extremely pleasant, not heavy for a sub, it's pure joy ...
Access to acute ... It is not impossible but the last are quite frets raprochées, better to have the fingers for ... Finally with this type of guitar, it has nothing to do here! It's not his land!
Ergonomics standard is happiness: like any small, thin, stable, it is very enjoyable to play.
The sound is good even unplugged it makes it great!
on the other hand, watch out the vibrato, it's a real crap: Disagree to avoid all the time, you have to shake to death against his plate to catch the low strings, is the only way to make it take the agreement ... It's not death if you do not fart a rope every two days, especially since the strings are still acute changeable. I also screwed the aluminum tape around the feet of the bridge to make it more stable, for that matter ... Anyway now I can fully vibration-er I stay well tuned! Least one point for this fault, anyway.
(Incidentally, I also shielded, because it buzzit lot at the base, now it is not noiseless but it's really more annoying ...)

    SOUNDS

I play more or less Alernative rock, grunge, that kind of stuff ... Period 90's. It's perfect ... Although I would add it may be a Jeff Beck Junior side easel, it lacks a bit of potato at times.
The pickups are made very small, it can be annoying sometimes ... It's tame, but be warned as much.
I play a Roland Cube 30 in my room and on a Mesa / Boogie Studio Preamp to repeat, sometimes I spend a Chubster Rivera 40. I use a lot of different distortion pedals in my mood (Big Muff, Shred Master, SansAmp ...) with a Polychorus to EHX and delay Ibanez vintage: the guitar is quite distorted, but still shows its character , namely a clear sound very beautiful, very fluid, lens ... It could be the right word.
This guitar is versatile, we will not Start, she listed a "nihilistic madness girl" I love a real fire ...
It's a horror to look how to ring with a distortion, but once it's found is happiness!
I do not hate any sound, they are all really good ... I am fully satisfied!

    OVERALL OPINION

I use it for 6 months now, I think I almost made the rounds ...
This is a guitar with a character, it is uncommon at the look as sound.
If you play rock as a young nihilist who washes your hair, it is for you ... If you play things very clear in his slamming, it can also do it without problem. You just have to remember that this guitar will never be versatile and it is they who will tell you how struck, and not vice versa. In short, I'm in love.
Before, I was on an Epiphone, a Les Paul it was a nice guitar but there's still another level, for a price not much higher ...
I ordered it in Japan, you can call it a big whim, I wanted a guitar, I had the money, I had just seen a play group with a scratch on a Music Master all black, j 'was in love, hop pack is weighed. I still spent nights at the reviews positive and negative ... Well, when we head idiot!
The quality / price ratio is positively good, € 350 for the guitar, with shipping and taxes it came back to just under 600 ... For a guitar of this quality it's worth.
The only thing that pains me a little is that painting is like "solid plastic," the sudden she will not look good vintage, bah too bad! At least she still has a unique color ...
In the same situation, I would do without hesitation that choice or not. I'm really happy with this guitar and I do not feel the need to change is a real communion, something quite incredible. If me or steal it ended in a fire at the bottom of a lake or something like that, I would buy another one, sure, but for now, great!

CONTRL basic: Volume and Tone gnrale, remains what it was best for me (especially the CONTRL is effiaces is the Fender!)
The handle is short trs (24 inches 0.75 inches so unless a Les Paul) enjoyable, just got my end (I like those types "baseball bat" certainly )
Mcaniques of that vintage prsentent a good efficacitstyle, a caramel-colored handle BEAUTIFUL, a broad head type Fender 70's, a beige finish trs (too) strong ... Short but good!

    UTILIZATION

The neck is thin and short, this is good for the lead. Access in acute is normal, it said I got more than enough!
The guitar is lgre and short, well-balance, perfect to move on scne (not tried it yet unfortunately). For me as bassist in gnrale, has changed at all at all! Assimilated to play no problem (but you do not play rock assi right?)
The vibrato ... as much a horror, it's also what I thought at beginners. Yet he too dsaccorde guitar (rglage question probably) you can operate it (a little) without the stem. By itself against allowed to play without a tie, in which case the rod can fall from the skyscraper, so we used the tiny screw that holds the rod and it is still in the passage of the hand ... His biggest default.
Forcment not easy to understand the use of switches. If you play on a single microphone, a hand can move the switch and we find ourselves in a position "silence" (the two microphones off). Better to avoid, broke the show Moreover, this position is BICKN silence that uses for the 1st time: you may wonder why there is no sound!

    SOUNDS

Plays a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe (lamps, an HP 12-inch). The sound is clear that the Fender. In crunch, it's always good ... In distortion, with the agreements, the draft has become. goes well with a lead all the same, even with a Fuzz (Proco Rat into a corner). The sound is overall mdium, brilliant. The output level is low, even for simple. In my opinion it is a quality achieves a subtle crunch keeping the same volume background. The strings are imbalances in volume, but against the bridge pickup has a sound lower than the handle! Not good! May be that the handle is a short-scale (lack of dbatement prs ropes of the bridge? Who knows?). Position with two mics out of phase, some do not, I love. It gives me a real position, not a gadget. A stroke of spring reverb, and thinks he's a surfer! In fact it's perfect for surfing, casseroles funky ... and also with a wha, try.
Good guitar buzz a lot, I will try to open it for the shield, and add a switch for the two microphones SERIES too.

In the end, a sound quality typical course, which may be a default if you are looking for versatility. For me it is a standard quality

    OVERALL OPINION

I have less than two months. This is a guitar with strong characters, it was for that I chose from including a Start. It has a reputable lack of versatility, yet it is sized for the surf, funk, punk, garage, grunge ... It can also provide bluesy leads even if it is not his vocation. I tried a lot of scratch irrelevant that the (Gretsch, Schetter, Gibson, other Fender, Epiphone guitars ... very brief) and I made my choice knowingly. No scratching of the man in the world ... and that's good.
A $ 700 in the States, is a very good scratch for the price.

    SOUNDS

Perfect for rock ind gnral. Personally, I make powerrock, grunge, punk and sometimes stuff a little more pop, and do not worry! I even had a friend who made the blues and he said she was doing wonders! on the other hand I doubt these capabilities in the mid mtal (single microphone)

On a fender amp lamp, a super sound and keeps the legendary Fender sound.
At end, I just an overdrive sound and visual distortion and the maxon is serious!!

My position prfre: bridge pickup only! it's a killer, with a good distortion, it's like in the 90's, sounds really!

    OVERALL OPINION

has been over a year since I played it and I let her go!

It is a skyscraper that suits me perfectly!
Possder to the original (a mustang U.S. 1964), and even if the vibrations are not the same and there are a few of his Difference ... I can assure you that this is really rdition trsrussie!!

Pay 799 euros, the report qualitprix is excellent!

    Undoubtedly, this choice I referrer!

the tremolo is great because it can itiliser with no stem, and even if it's not a floyd (enterme possibility as reliability) you can play with a lot of fun while subtlety &%&%&% &% it's hurting the bottom, micro seriously lacking potato, limiting the registry of the clean / crunch / overdrive, distortion in this way, despite that the neck pickup is very pleasant, warm, clea magnifik especially with a chorus, micro acute when it was rather tinny and weak, the electron can not wrong config config (8) I did not understand much but it is cool and it broadens the sound pallette, position " reversal "(selector handle and selector bridge inverted position) we can get a sound very aggressive but also smaller in terms of volume
I changed the bridge pickup with a DiMarzio Super Distortion (double simple format) and there is amazing, it deserves its name mustang competition!
is as large distos mom and dad in ca no breath!
used in a Fender Super Champ XD and an orange rocker 30 with a big muff a metal muff and a small clone
it's a good guitar sounds correct in that can turn into a killing with the change of micro

    SOUNDS

I got it for five years, and I have my guitar has active (bcp more than what my level would leave penser8 ^))
I like its enjoyable to use and I hate his microphone side has changed since the report ac makes money a little less good: 700/800 euros to understand we have a good violin but must add 200euros microphone, it remains correct
I might add that having had a rather chaotic period of my life is solid and very reliable
with hindsight I regret having sold because it's going to be complicated to find the same as

The Fender Mustang Reissue '69 is an electric guitar that is no longer being made. Fender does reissue a vintage Mustang guitar, but it is the 1965 version if I'm not mistaken. I don't know exactly when they made the '69 reissues, but I first used one about two years ago. The guitar has two single coil pick ups that each have switches to put them on or off. It has volume and tone knobs that control both of the pick ups, and it also has a whammy bar. This guitar is also known as the "Competition" Mustang and was made in Japan.

    UTILIZATION

The overall feel of the Fender Mustang Reissue '69 is outstanding, as the action on the one that I played was incredibly low and very easy to play. Playing up and down the neck isn't an issue, as it in general an easy guitar to play. The guitar is definitely on the smaller side because of the small body, and is pretty light because of this. In my time using the guitar I've found it very easy to get a full bodied sound with a lot of character.

    SOUNDS

This guitar is probably most often used for rock and alternative music, as it definitely has the Kurt Cobain connotation attached to it. I've used the Fender Mustang Reissue '69 for recording with a '76 Fender Twin Reverb and a variety of pedals including an Ibanez Tube Screamer overdrive, a Boss CS-3 compressor, and a Line 6 DL-4. Even when used without any pedals or effects, the sound I got was instantly impressive both as a lead and rhythm guitar. I would say that I like it best as a rhythm guitar because is really sounds full bodied when you play barr and power chords, but it is suitable for any type of use.

    OVERALL OPINION

Overall, I'm definitely an advocate for this guitar. As any guitar player knows, Fender has an incredible line of guitars, and this Mustang Reissue is just another flavor that they have to offer. I don't believe that there are too many Fender Mustang Reissue '69's out there since I believe that they were only made for a short while. I don't know how well this matches up to the other Mustang reissues either since I haven't tried them. I would imagine that the price of this is somewhere in the middle, but it probably varies since it isn't the most readily available. If you're into Fender Mustangs and come across one of these, I'd definitely encourage you to do a double take.
