Meeting in the U.S. with components produced in Canada, history circumvent import taxes on the U.S. market.

This is a guitar Performance Series, namely the mid / entry level at Godin. The model is no longer sold since qq years already but it is still found on the second hand market.

For features you can still find the product on the net (http://www.godinguitars.com/godinexit22p.htm), however, to summarize it is a guitar with a mahogany body with a handle in tune gibson, rosewood or maple fingerboard (if my copy), easel and a string through SSH config all stamped Godin (microphones, mechanical and hardware ...).

Note that it was sold with a beautiful cover by Godin Tobago, very strong and ultra well padded. Probably the most beautiful cover comes with an instrument of this range there.

UTILIZATION

The handle is very nice, the junction body / neck is ergonomically cut for easy access to acute. The action can be adjusted to adhere well to the handle.

Mechanical hold the road well and holding agreement poses no worries. The controls are very good and usable on almost the entire race.

Against by the guitar is really heavy, it weighs as much as a old LP. Suffice to say that it is very difficult to play long standing, at least if you are not saplings as a means North American.

SOUNDS

Sound vacuum is very promising, the violin is very well made.

Once connected we find, unfortunately, a very general guitar, with a small range of not disgusting but relatively devoid of personality sounds.

The positions of the microphones and controls not allow a lot of variations but the sound is sorely lacking in character.

I moderate a bit about my playing for the first two pickups you get two out three clear sounds pretty cool and good amp helping, to use effectively to rhythmic.

OVERALL OPINION

The violin is of good quality and would really deserved a set of microphones in more pronounced character.

Personally I had discovered during a stocking and I flashed on the ergonomics (low action, very good access to acute, not a sound disgusting) Then I played for about a year, alternating two other guitars in a reggae / funk oriented training.

I did not use that rhythm, only clear sound plugged into a Blues Jr. In this context I managed to find my happiness with both three blasts that went well.

I had sold for two main reasons: a pissed sounds certainly correct, however, not very inspiring, especially because of the weight too complex.

It is still found on the second hand market for a price quite correct. In view of the quality of the violin, I think if you have the budget for an upgrade pickups and muscles that can support its weight, we can do sth quite nice.

$460 Cdn. at Long & McQuade and they threw in a patch cord / strap. A really great bunch of people who are knowledgeable!

Single / Single / Humbucker. Good set up so you can do a variety of songs. Sounds awesome! Also, came with a functional Gig Bag! Came close to buying the Epiphone Les Paul Standard but played the two against each other. Guess which one I bought. :o)

Does not come with a Tremolo / Whammy bar. Not necessary if you have an effects unit / setup but you might miss the "Bar" if you're used to one.

Built like a tank and really well balanced. Fender "Strat" like headstock looks well with the Natural solid mahogany body. Mine has a rosewood fretboard over a maple neck which really compliments the body. You can purchase an all maple neck/fretboard version. 2 simple knurled knobs for volume and tone with 5 postion slide switch making adjustments easy.


Would definitely buy another Exit-22 unit to replace if lost or stolen. Of course, I'd have to "curse / hex" the person who tries to steal my guitar. This is one to keep for life!

I played about 5 years ago and decided to take up guitar again. I headed to my local Long & Mcquade to check out guitars again for the first time in years. Immediately this was the particular model that caught my eye amongst the walls of guitars for its crazy good looks and a decent price point. It was $459.99 cdn but I got it price matched for $439.99.

THERE IS NOT ONE THING YOU COULDNT LIKE ABOUT THIS GUITAR - SERIOUSLY

To start with the looks: Its a beautiful looking guitar. Exit 22's have a solid mahogany body that is unpainted, showing its natural beatiful woodgrain that is semi-glossed to perfection. The fretboard is available in maple or rosewood (mine is rosewood) and the neck is maple. The three wood colors together is stunning and brilliant. It also has two texured chrome volume and tone knobs. The fixed bridge is also chrome as well. The tunners are a great satin silver color.

After loving the looks, I choose this guitar for its versatility. I want to learn a whole bunch of styles when re-learning, not just the music I listen to now (blink 182, Staind, Three Days Grace, Nickleback, Billy Talent, Sum 41 ect...) and this guitar can definately take care of it. It has a hum/single/single set up which i have been told is great all around. Adding to its versatility the exit 22 has a short neck and 22 frets giving it a great feel and fun to play. I personally love the humbuckers because they always sound great. Just try and find a guitar like this in the same price range. For such a well made guitar, and one that if I am not mistaken is made in Canada, you can't go wrong especially since Godin includes an awsome pocket-packed gig bag as well.

p.s. another thing to add would be that it comes equipped with decent godin strings which is always a plus.

Nothing...

The only thing I might change would change be to have the strings pulled through the body and have the pick-ups and neck recessed further into the body like its more expensive big brother the "LG."
But then we are obviously going up in price so I can't complain about it at all. If I cared that much about it then I would have just bought the Godin LG hmb (with humbuckers).

You cant get any better than this. My exit 22 feels so solid and I love the way it is crafted. One thing I especially like is not only does the mahogany body look great as mentioned, but since there is no paint to scracth, little dings and dents are hardly noticable to those of you who are like me and occasionally bang your guitar on something because you were excited or being stupid lol

If you were going to go for something a little cheaper - DONT! Save a little extra and get this guitar. When you think about it - you will have your guitar for years hopefully; So why not just get a great guitar now? RIGHT? right.

And if you were thinking of spending a little more money because the price seems a little to low for the quality you were looking for - DONT! Go to your local store, pick up this guitar and give it a whurl. After you love it, just buy it and save some of your hard eraned bucks to put toward your new tube amp or effects pedal. There.... now dont you feel smart about that purchase? yes, you do!

BOTTOM LINE - I know im raving about this guitar and im not trying to say its any Les Paul or top of the line PRS but given the price, great quality and features you cant go wrong with this guitar A+

What can I say? I have a start over us! and then want to change but do not want the "big" sound when I try Gison and there I found a scratch that sounds great with a top look, the Godin Exit 22 !!!!!

UTILIZATION

Compared to my Start over us (which I think is already a good guitar) nothing to say, the Godin Exit 22 has a very cozy round to play, and the different settings are very good microphones, there are really nice sounds in the fontion position, selector,
ha yes ... it is something much heavier than my Start, but damn what she is beautiful!! ok, I'm biased ... but frankly it sounds and it is beautiful to the touch and look ....

SOUNDS

In my group (Hal Bopp at Le Havre), it is virtually all styles
rock, folk, celite, tango, samba brief the fact that no problems!!
I own bandit 112 amp and a Boss ME 30
for settings, I like the second position from the handle, the fourth also
the bridge position for a well passebien rock

OVERALL OPINION

I use it for a few months but already a few gigs with and nothing to say
it's a beautiful guitar with quality / price ratio that seems very good!

HSS, this version gives me the desired sound regardless of the position of the selector

OVERALL OPINION

-6 Years that I use and 5 years for my second "Godin Exit 22 mods"
and no regrets, I know it it will never leave my Fender Champ II
this is the first time I do not think the next guitar I owned a fortnight.
-Of course I do it again this election, more than this original version with microphones "no name" is my favorite.

UTILIZATION

-Although narrower than the Charvel CH6 I had before, this handle is ideal for comfort, cargo Access in dernires not break any problem, the dcoupe of the fund allows all the daring ...
-The handle is screwed and timely dcoupe wise decreases the body and the handle to allow unrestricted access to any size finger.
-The ergonomics are as good as the CASC dernires freight, whether on the thigh or the strap it is positioned to play alone and causes only happiness.
If we get it easily, good sound ..... and how the microphones are magical GODIN M. .. (At the end, everything c'tait before the tragedy, of course .. see below the overall opinion ...)

SOUNDS

The Exit22 is versatile, whatever the style, in sound she fears no one as long as one does not Exceeds terminals, a steel will not find happiness in the tool while the other is! On some guitars, whatever the position, sounds slightly differ in appearance, the Exit22, the five sounds are DIFFERENT and all with their own carractres critallin of the fat-free form is worries ... trs not heavy but I knocked a little!
I'll buy a LINE6 SPIDER II 212 the end of me (the premium is falling) and I had the opportunity to dj test my rape on the amp ... mooooorteeeelllll bleuffant as is! Otherwise, I use a KORG Toneworks AX100G and in as, has merged well ...

OVERALL OPINION

For a year I fricotte with my GODIN, I am thrilled and would not change against the two barrels of ARIEL! This guitar is a wooden handle and Start of a wooden Gibson .. when you take the best of both worlds we can only go to heaven.
MUSIC STARS bought at 600 with the cover GODIN, a game of D'Addario strings and a leather strap and straps TOBBAGO rapid DUNLOP report qualitprix is ​​my opinion unbeatable.

I replaced the original pickups by Seymour Duncan ... and presto, I have a new skyscraper ... on the advice of Alex SEMPLE home SEYMOUR DUNCAN SH-4 JB a Model in bridge, an SVR-1 Vintage Rails in middle and an SL59-1 Little '59 in the neck ... what bliss ... I found that much has sounded before it's even better! Love love love ..

I changed two of my Seymour Duncan DIMARZIO by the SVR-1 Vintage Rails in the middle by a DP 401 Virtual Vintage 2.1 and SL59-1 Little '59 in the neck by a DP 402 Virtual VINTAGE BLUES ... and go for a new festival of his .... if I prfre the Di Marzio ... Yes, clearly!
I used to my splitter SH4 JB MODEL ... thanks to the advice of Dr. BOOST Guitar Part ... it's bastos!

I give my opinion on this guitar over a year after me to be separated. This corresponds more to the feeling as I remained, as a careful examination.

The characteristics are quite good. The keys are the agreement. Selector, volume knob and tone are effectively.

The overall impression is of quality.

UTILIZATION

A handle super nice, which slides alone. This is the main impression I have left.

Good access is not facilitated by acute body shape, but it is quite feasible.

The body of the guitar is very nice in the hand, probably a very fine polish.

SOUNDS

Personally I have not found (as I have read at the time) she was in a register between Paul and Start (this says there is room in between).

The general tone is more in the midrange. I found it lacked bass and especially acute. After observing the position of the micro plot I noticed that the plot of the high E string was not in front of the rope but the rope between so and mi. This is probably the cause of the loss in the treble.
This problem also exists on a different exit 22 I've seen in stores.

It is for this reason that I am separated. Now the rest of the guitar is frankly quality.

OVERALL OPINION

It's really a good little guitar. Looking back I said I can try to change the pickups. It may be due to poor adjustment at all.

If it again, I think I'll change the pickups.

This choice is irreversible, and this change a lot of thought 'me personal satisfaction, as Mr Godin happily abandons us we, the Left!

the only regret is the white reflection on the picture (plastic window in my backyard) on the varnish (now) brilliant

UTILIZATION

The handle is nice even if in hindsight it seemed a bit too late for my paws.
The varnish is very good and everything slides alone.
The guitar is heavy often guarantee of quality but it can like or not.
This is not to criticize because a priori there is plenty to be happy and yet I never got the sound I wanted.

SOUNDS

At home I use it with a Roland Cube 30x. (See my review on this amp).
By trying to maybe make it a versatile guitar too, Godin has done something in common, fairly common I would say. Maybe I'll be pretty tough but this is only my opinion. I tell you what I feel, but it limits bad compared to what I expected from this manufacturer rightly deemed as a whole, Godin customers are satisfied with their instrument.
Does it come from my side so difficult and demanding ...? Am I wrong model to make the music I like? Should I have to keep it longer to deepen the settings?
I play blues, rock and hard rock and I've never been satisfied with the result.
This guitar has no soul and does not match the quality of his violin.
I quite agree with the advice of Stof 79 (see his opinion on the maple neck exit 22) on the microphones. I think he would have had to make adjustments, change the pickups to see things better.
In addition, the 2 models exit 22 (New I said) I've had (since I exchanged the first thought to have fallen on the wrong number) were rather similar in terms of "footprint" sound even if the second rang a little better. All this discouraged me, if we have a new guitar ..... rebricoler

OVERALL OPINION

Approximately 6 months of use. But nothing to do, she did no more.
The microphones were attached to the first beam, the bridge pickup did not work (welding defect) and the height of the blocks (fixed non-adjustable after the factory) of these were settled kind of oddly random. As proof, the second model showed that I had almost the same fault but on other blocks in other places.
Ultimately, I am persuaded by the mark and the high quality of the violin. But this is not everything.
It is not very expensive but will always be too expensive if it does not suit us. In my case, value for money is bad.
Small manufacturing defects, installation of microphones (crooked), drilling too deep on one of the screws of the selector and, frankly (!), A screw missing on the bridge (on the second model) forces me to say that quality control is nonexistent at Godin. My dealer told me that Paris is normal on a guitar of this price (!) And that much more expensive option models also have defects (!!!).
+ Godin in a mail without answer them completely insane ...
Maybe it's my fault, I had to choose a Godin LG ...?
In short, this guitar does not convince me, far away. It should, of course, other musicians and it is therefore relativize hard I've said here.
