Published on 05/11/13 at 13:12I am the proud owner of two Höfner Galaxie reissue (the first one made in indonesia (July 2011) and the second one made in China (May 2013)
the general appearance is between the Strat and Gretch, we like it or not like, I love!
production has changed between 2011 and 2013, which resulted in some differences ..
details differ from one origin to another:
1) corp: bright red shiny glitter (Indo) / / / dark red glitter (China)
2) the heat shield: chrome screws and perfect cut (Indo) / / / black screws and a cut slightly imperfect at the handle (China)
3) more smooth yellow handle slightly (Indo) / / / handle natural duller color (China)
4) the key has a slightly lighter color (china)
Channel: close to a (mechanical black head / Kluson type 60's) stratocaster neck
Double rectangular pearl inlay (3/5/7/9/12/15/17/19/21èmme box)
freights are 22 in number.
microphones: 3 mini humbucker Höfner individually selectable
7 pickup configurations (H/-/-) (-/H/-) (-/-/H) (H/H/-) (-/H/H) (H /-/ H) (H + H + H)
Bridge: vintage bridge with adjustable hardness (Jazzmaster / system stamped Höfner)
settings: 3 selectors microphones general tone and overall volume.
making Indonesia is perfect for a guitar of 300 euros
Chinese manufacturing is slightly perfectible ...
a little advice: change the strings for a good game .. (I play D'Addario chrome 10/48)
UTILIZATION
the handle and overall comfort level, it's happiness ... very easy to handle, it feels immediately at ease, and it should all fall down ... nickel!
all configuration of microphones are used, for my part, I have a weakness for the neck pickup only
SOUNDS
the sound level, this is where things get serious: this guitar has its galactic! with a slight delay and a slight overdrive, the sound has a lot of depth ... try it is to adopt ...
If I bought a second, this is not a coincidence ... I use two different tunings and EADGBE Dadaab and this guitar sound sick! for an outrageously affordable (€ 299 and € 230)
I play with 2overdrives (vulcan and Fooltone TG), a vintage Rat, a tone bender and 3 delays.
the amp splits the signal level I / Kustom Bass amp and JCM 900.
When I switched the Fuzz is absolute nirvana! power, roundness, and crackling larsens erupting!! Rhààààààà!!

That said, you can pretty much play surfing with this great guitar!

for highly motivated ... Ernesto ago ... it causes a lot Ernesto (24mn) ... but it sounds good out of the Galaxy ...

A little, my nephew, I redid this choice! I have two!! they sound to weep!
