Reverend Rocco

Reverend RoccoPublished on 09/15/01 at 15:00
Ordered this guitar(new model specs for 2001 as of August. All Reverend models have "metal tops" on a phenolic semi-hollow body)from my local Reverend dealer, Audio Dimensions in Milford MA. I wanted something versatle but not like anything else I've ever owned. Believe me, the Rocco fits the bill.
I got a super deal so I'm reluctant to mention the price I paid. It lists for $1199.

I love the versatility of this instrument! 8 possible pickup settings! The Rocco's tone is warm and jangly when put through a clean tube amp, and it retains a "shimmer" when overdrive is applied. It never gets "muddy" sounding. There isn't really a style of music you can't use the Rocco for. The body,...…

It never gets "muddy" sounding. There isn't really a style of music you can't use the Rocco for. The body, although semi-hollow, doesn't feedback with heavy distortion. Sustain is amazing due to a steel bar imbedded in the white mahogany center block. The hardware is first rate.
I love everything about this guitar.

There is NOTHING I dislike about the Reverend Rocco.

Handmade in the USA! The finish is "Lava Swirl Aluminum"(a black and purple pattern brushed into a metal sheet bonded to the phenolic top of the guitar), an unusual & GORGEOUS option. Standard features include Grover locking tuners & a graphite nut. The switches and hardware are first rate components, better than the parts on a lot of "custom shop" guitars. Although semi-hollow, the Rocco has a sturdy feel to it. And it only weighs 6 pounds!

I've been playing for 15 years, and I'm constantly looking for "that tone". The Rocco is as close as I've ever gotten, and I'm still exploring the options this guitar presents. I know we'll be friends a LONG time.
