I've since December 7, 2009, I play a PRS SE Custom 24, a les paul wsl, a relic strat by me. I try everything on the amp: marshall, fender, mesaboogie, vox, peavey, Hugh Ketner, carvin, soldano .. I forget ... . this one and an excellent investment! it's quality / price its unbeatable!! excellent response, timbre of the guitar play well respected! optimizes your game thanks to a very rich variety of sounds that makes you want to play all day on it. lamps are WELL!! is it shows!! its sounds very pro is now! to 429 euro in musicdestock including postage! is the best deal I've made so far! OVERALL OPINION

I use it extensively for almost six months, and coupled with a pedal mk II or more is really great! Namely the purchase of one of these pedal is almost mandatory ... too many preset settings ect.
Before this one I tried a vox vt 100, blackstar ht 40 which sends and a typed above his british ^ ^, a haze marshmall 40 and an amp head peavey valve king.

The clean sound is very good. Warm, perfect...

The crunch sound isn't bad but you start hearing the amp's personality.

The distortion disappointed me. This amp sound totally California!!! They ignored Marshall fans!! It's surprising coming from Mr Bogner because he used to tune Marshall amps in the beginning... But he only conceived the preamp stage of this amp, not the modelings...

It supposed to include some British models but I'm still looking for them!

I took a look at it. I like Line 6 user's manuals, they are very easy to read.. It seems that people at Line 6 have lots of fun writing manuals...

SOUNDS

The amp is quite versatile... but I'm very disappointed because all modelings have the typical US sound.

- Which guitar, bass or effects do you use?

I tested it with a Gibson Les Paul Standard, a Strato Custom Shop, a Tele USA Standard and a PRS 513.

- What kind of sounds do you get and which settings do you use ("crystal-clear", "fat", ...)?

The clean sound is very warm and nice. The crunch sound isn't bad... but I miss a Marshall-like crunch... and even a typical Bogner sound... (the simulation is not comparable with a real Bogner amp).

- Which sounds do you prefer / hate?

I don't like the distortion... But guitarists who like the Mesa sound will love this amp.

I also hate the chorus/flanger effect... It's really lousy and uninteresting... I'd rather have an amp without effects...

I kept it three days (two days at home plus a live gig) and I brought it back to the store where I bought it.

The effects are the worse!!! I'd rather have no effects!

It's really silly to combine a chorus and a flanger and have independent tremolo and phaser effects... Can someone explain this to me??? It's impossible to get a good sound with this combination! And you cannot edit any parameter of the effects except for the volume...

And its the same regarding delays... No editable parameters...

Of course. I've had many different amps. But this one's the first I've kept such a short time...

It's much worse than a Vetta II!!

If you buy it knowing how it sounds, it's ok... And the manufacturing quality is very good... But avoid it if you are looking for something else rather than only US sounds or effects.

This amp is great for people who like US sounds and don't use any effects.

If you like Bogner, Marshall and Soldano sounds, as well as a deep U2 or Malmsteen delay with a light chorus effect, etc...

UTILIZATION

It cannot be easier!

Just select your amp, edit your preset, and save it while depressing the channel you want. It's perfectly intuitive and I didn't need to read the user's manual.

The effect settings are incredibly easy. I know you could get more precision with some pedals but it's more than enough.

And as a bonus feature, you get an integrated chromatic tuner (which is not limited to EADGBE).

You can choose among three pedals:

- the FBV2 with two small knobs to switch from one preset to another.

- the FBV Express with four preset buttons, tuner and wah/volume pedal

- the FBV Shortboard which is expensive but allows you to control the amp with your foot! Really convenient and comprehensive.

I give them a 9 for the price of the pedals.

SOUNDS

It's amazing!

This amp will convince every digital technology detractor!

To be more clear: it does everything you need.

Fender, Vox, Mesa, Marshall. Every sound of every renowned amp brand is faithfully reproduced.

Since I play almost every kind of music, it's perfect for me. Accurate and warm clean sound (do you feel the tubes?), smooth or aggressive crunch sound, heavy and sharp distortion... It's a real pleasure.

Jazz, rockabilly, hard rock, thrash and heavy metal, everything is possible (of course you have to play the right guitar).

The sound character of each guitar is perfectly reproduced.

I play an Epiphone Les Paul Standard so I get a rather fat and heavy sound. I also own an Ibanez Tube Screamer 9 overdrive pedal which adds a different character to each model. Perfect!

I have a weakness for the Mesa modelings because their distortion sound is really incredible, it's virtually identical to the original amps. It's wonderful to play solos.

But watch out for the output volume: 40 watts of tube power are very loud and the Celestion Vintage 30 has a high efficiency! So watch out for the presets you want to use.

I give it a 9 because perfection doesn't exist and there's nothing like the original amps... Although this amp comes really close!

OVERALL OPINION

I've been using mine for three weeks, but a friend of mine bought one several months ago so I had the chance to try it out before buying it.

Its charm is being practical. The finish is perfect (thank you Bogner) and the sound is versatile and excellent.

I previously owned several amps which where totally different but this one is definitely the best.

UNBEATABLE value for money. Such quality at this price, it's almost a gift!

For your information, you'll find the Celestion Vintage 30 speaker in Mesa amps and other high-class brands.

Here, you get also a tuner, effects and 400 artist presets 36 of which can be edited.

Of course I wouldn't hesitate to buy it again.
