UTILIZATION

Easy for those who are comfortable with the smartphone-type configuration menus, ie comfortable with the "modern electronic" products.
The manual can be indigestible if you do not mind that, but if you understand the structure of the amp, effects ... the intuitive mode quickly becomes a game.
In the end like all Line6 products, we spend some time looking for the "Holy Grail" of his "son" or sounds, then we sauvergarde a user preset and off you go for fun.
I have the chance to compare the sound of the spider valve with a Vox AC30, Vox Night Train, a Blackstar HT20, Fender Twin Reverb and my verdict is that the line6 can do everything from clean and sparkling clean to the saturation metalheads frenzied, I am totally committed to the cause !!!
I have not compared to the Mesa boogie, orange ... so I do not put 10/10

SOUNDS

is perfect for use with eclectic repertoire rock like the Beatles cleans saturations ZZtop kind.
I personally have 4 presets and therefore four foot switches to recall a switch for solo boost, and possibly the ability to add or remove all effects on the pedal for this purpose. Simple effective

OVERALL OPINION

User since 4 years in repeats and on stage, retubé once and always satisfied with this Swiss Army Knife. Only fault but it is the nature of these amps, weight combo with 2HP lamps because it weighs a dead donkey:-(
I have the opportunity to try many other amp and I confirm that all the others (those mentioned above) are good, but require the pedals to cover a wider spectrum of sounds and therefore always more expensive budget.
This spider valve with the signing Bogner offers all in "one package".
It is therefore produces a very good opportunity for choice in who wants to be open all musical fields.

I'll keep a long time and I tell myself that I should have started with this one.

UTILIZATION

The configuration could not be simpler. Simply connect a guitar to choose an amp from 16 type and adjust effects. The manual, I did not even read.

SOUNDS

This amp is perfect for my type of music, Metalcore! I play with a Charvel Desolation DX-1 fr equipped with EMG 81/85 and I get easily a big, heavy and accurate to Parkway Drive sound. I always put on the channel "Insane" with mid to 0 and drive 3/4. The amp is very quiet, very little noise, even at high volume. 40W lamps, sending it serious! The clean is also excellent; This is a very versatile amp.

OVERALL OPINION

I use it for 4 months now. What I like most about this amp is the sound power and connectivity midi / xlr to register on pc. One can very well be used in rehearsal and on stage. What I like least is its weight, 30kg is heavy to carry! I was looking for a tube amp allowing me to reproduce the sound of my favorite groups (August Burns Red, Parkway Drive, Breakdow Of Sanity. ..). I tested the Engl, Marshall, Peavey, that all lamps. The sound does not please me more than that. After a moment the vendor branch me on a Line 6 Spider Valve MKII 112. So I say yeah blah, Line 6 I know, it's modeling, it can not be better than Engl anyway ... And I sort THE precise and brutal distortion of my dream! I then bought the 212 mkII Thomann 660 € because it was my mkII 112 700 €. I find the quality / exelent for my case money. I would do this choice without hesitation.

UTILIZATION

I found it rather simple from the moment we have gone through the manual just to understand the subtleties.

SOUNDS

Played with a lot of different guitars, ibanez, music man, parker, brian moore, with piezo, piezo without this amp, well set is killer.

I played in a tribute band Toto was, therefore, I had a sound "has Lukather" very responsible indeed, etr seen my influences (dream theather, vai etc ....) I tended to push for sound very bold rhythmic (very metal / prog metal in fact).
Many people saw me coming with this line 6 mouais they say ... no lights ... ugh .... modeling .... you get the picture.
These same people have returned (ca happen all the time), saying "but what's that sound crazy," "it's amazing" etc. .... yes like anything, it's not the lamp, masi in a club, bar, restaurant and other small venues is simply ideal, you can do anything with.

OVERALL OPINION

used 2 years, and I had boxes (trucks amp) of gear.
I had a lot of rack, at the JMP1 TriAxis, engl sovereign of the dual rectification, but with a small footprint, a sound that was all torn.

UTILIZATION

The configuration is simple and the manual says it all.
There is an LCD screen that allows you to easily locate in the menu.
The manual is not comprehensive: no explanation on the effects and their setting.
For comparison, the manual was better supplied POD 2.0 and met 100% of polling.

For sound: Awesome, I who was already using a Line 6 POD I am filled sounds have been improved and handpicked.
The sound is great lamps and makes us vibrate guts.

Amp presets (16 in total) immediately give her a satisfactory and easily adjustable because like all the amp settings are in front (no combinations of button to change them).

The presets flawed (if only we had an explanation for use.

Presence of a manual key can use the amp as a conventional amp.

It is quite suitable to my style of music because I play the French or British rock and a bit of variety.
This amp is made for this: VERSATILITY!

The clean sounds are clean and precise like the distos DRIVE setting it all.

But I do not play with a Yamaha AES 620 and I do not look my guitar the same way since that I have this amp.

Favorite sounds: Arguably the VOX AC30 sound (class A type) suits me perfectly plain or crunchy, clean and warm sound of my marshall emulation seems very loyal, hard rock: sounds mesa boogie (metal) are falling.

The sound fender deluxe (TWANG) is not terrible.

In all cases the accuracy is the RDV.

I've had it three weeks.
I have tried many type transistor amp marshall, fender, and a fender deluxe tube.

Honestly I think this amp is very well made for guitarists who need diversity, or having several styles (I do).

I find beautiful in aesthetic terms,
practice (supplied with wheels).

Fewest: Versatility stops or starts MIDI because unlike what you may read in PUB Line 6:
We can not control everything with a pedal that is not Line 6 Wah unusable with their indications and the loop recorder can be used only with FVB Express at 100 MKII euros.Et the manual has not an exhaustive list of Control changes.
I tried to capture the No. of control change with Cubase and it only sends proprietary system unusable on my pedals FCB 1010 (which in passing niquel walked with my POD 2.0). Otherwise the BANK and other presets are accessible without insidious problem that the volume pedal.

Well, I bought it for its sound performance and I have no regrets, even after triturated in every sense I think is great and I can say after so many years to save: I have my tube amp and tears ....

Finally Line 6 got the idea...they cannot make a decent distortion tone. So they went out an found probably the best man who could create one. Reinhold Bogner has been building amps for over 20+ years now and creating some the best amplifiers in the world. Professionals around the world turn to Bogner to get their tonal needs.

Line 6 has done a great job building effects processors but really couldn't figure out how o get the overdrive down. Now that they have Reinhold and his world renown taste for high gain tone the have achieved something until now has never been done before.

SOUNDS

I have used every single POD Line 6 has and several of their amplifiers. This is by far the best outing they have done so far with the accompaniment of effects. The have a new amp that doesn't have effects that is just fantastic.

I like this amp with a Gibson Les Paul or another humbucking style guitar. This amp gets really dirty and chewy in the high gain territory. This amp just lives on the rich thick distorted tone. With the ability to have 128 presets much like a midi foot controller would have...you are virtually owing a whole effects rig and processors with one simple amp.

OVERALL OPINION

If you are someone who needs solid sounding high gain amplifier with the ability to have multiple effects to go with it this is the amp for you. Having tubes coupled with the digital processors makes this thing a beast of a guitar tool.

At new these amps come in at around $900, not a bad price for something that was designed by Reinhold and mixed with the processing power of Line 6.

UTILIZATION

Config ultra simple doc walked in 15 minutes, everything is clair.L set is truly plug and play, I found my sound very quickly, from Marshall / Digitech, no pb. The setup is even easier with the Shortboard pedal which allows the use of special editing software (the pedal connects via USB to the PC).


SOUNDS

I worked very heavy distortion but still clean, and for that I have never found as well. I bought it elsewhere after trying it. I had a Mesa qqes time ago, great sound, but a real wind tunnel, so it needed a more external gate. There on the Insane setting (amber or blue, which is the amp the most satrué), the integrated gate is perfect, we hear nothing, and yet the sound is fine, until feedback, and crazy: even Very low volume! Me playing a lot at the apartment, I now have a perfect sound quality with very low volume (when the neighbors are asleep).
Many have criticized this model Insane, Line 6 clean (I had already on an old Spider transistors), saying that it was rather dirty, but the testers did not go far enough in setting Insane, go max gain at 60%, especially no more, so it saturates. At this level, the integrated equalizer can reveal a wide range of sounds, mine is very typical Vai / Petrucci, and I found it very quickly. Its fine in the end is achieved with the volume knob all.
In his clear, lack of crystalline, it is undeniable, impossible to leave a Fender style, regardless of the amp model selected, but against the great wealth of different models allows to find its own sound.
The integrated multi-effects is nickel, simple and useful. I love the harmonizer, tjrs I play with a slight delay and very little reverb, and the whole is very clean. And I repeat: the gate is super efficient and really does not change the sound, unlike many foot Gate.
I begin to appreciate the looper built (never played with it): handy, you throw a little rhythm pattern, loop it all alone, and you delusions that.
I bought the pedal thereafter Shortbard MKII is also perfect (bought new, but the cable was faulty, I thought at first that he was out of order, and a simple straight cable network Ethernet.à do) . The switching time between banks is super fast, no 'clack' and the integrated whawha is very rich, no need to cry my baby external (info unspoken: the built-in pedal is a volume pedal - which can be inhibited - end with a footswitch to switch to trigger the whawha).

OVERALL OPINION

I play for over 30 years I have had a dozen amps, multi-effects I did not even speak. I use it for 3 weeks, and here I must say that this amp suits me best: sound, ease the side plugandplay integrated whole - no son in every sense - to advise fans overdrive a little chiadés. For jazz and sounds too crystalline to avoid I think, at least I have not yet managed to model a cool sound, but I'm sure to find something approaching QQE that suit me. And above all it provides a very good sound at low volume while having a fishing than I could certainly never use .. The Shortboard pedal seems necessary for the practical side (PC connection) and vital for the flash and enjoy the updates (I've already done).
