I have a sword ibanez custom shop, with my jcm 800 hp Celestion 65W connected in parallel,
I n that uses mono and c is already very well, I think that it must be in stereo huge

OVERALL OPINION

I have it for 1 year paid 500 € that have nothing compared to the price at the output .. 1700 € ...
I'm not ready to change ...
much more versatile than my Marshall jcm 800 All lamp
what matters with an amp c is that it is made and that the one can do anything ...

I bought the HD because I was really impressed with my previous amp, a line 6 flextone combo. I needed more grunt so I bought the head. It was on sale as they were making way for the new model (flextone 2). It retails at AU$3,600 but I baught it for AU$1,999.



This unit is a tank!!! It's interchangable between 4, 8 and 16ohms. It's 300watts RMS, In stereo @ 8ohms it runs at 120watts per side. I play it through a 1960b box (stereo). The amp models are exact and the effect add even more diversity to the amp. The power is a huge plus, but the amp also has stereo DI's, midi out, effects loop (switchable from parralell/serial)... The amp models cater for eveything from metal to jazz to folk.... just adjust to your particular style by adding a different type of cabinet.

A few downers may be that the amp is possibly so powerful that when you EQ a fat rectified sound, it pushes out to much bass and kills your box. of course this is just a matter of matching the right EQ with your box. The head is heavy, as in wieght wise, but thats a small price to pay!!!

It sounds like a machine and it's built like a machine. Recently while playing a show my drummer tripped on his fold-back lead and spilt a full glass of scotch and coke on the HEAD. Even with the vents on the roof of the head ecverything worked perfectly (lucky for my stupid drummer).

The bottome line is that this head is perfect for metal, jazz, country ect ect. It's easy to just add a different cabinet on the bottom (a little twin for jazz, 4 quad-box's for rock)... Oh yeah, one more thing, in the manual there's a diagram that shows that this head can run 8 quadboxs off the one head!!!! If anyone ever trys this please email me and tell me how it goes!!!!!

The models of amplifiers are sneaks in and bites of ism, the sound palette is vast trs that we want to play Jazz on a Roland JC120 modlisation of rock or on the many Marshall available (including the famous Super Lead Plexi) or really Heavy on repro Mesa Dual Rectifier or Soldano SLO 100
The effects are trs good quality, with a MIDI pedal, this amp is perfect for scne without him adding 30 U of rack height.

UTILIZATION

The facade is simple it can not, there are sound hyper Rapidos on the other hand be careful if you change the volume of sound, for example, its clear to saturated under penalty of decline by 3 meters, especially if like me You connect to a 4 * 12, then be careful not to put the volume 5 or 6 to slam treble its ES 335 and switch to just Rectified APRS, less be in a stadium .... or can spend (not j'exagre)

SOUNDS

I play everything but mostly rock and heavy, with a Soldano SLO and comprsseur + delay can have endless sustain a good level of saturation (my pickups are Seymour Duncan humbucker), if grows really drive the sound becomes trsmchant the 80's Metallica or Slayer, with September 1 by connecting cord or it can move in the same grind.
But I plug my guitar in and electro-acoustic with preset or Blackface + JC120 chorus and delay of the amplifier the sound is really beautiful trs, trs Christalin pure, worthy of the best acoustic amps lectros.
This amp is super versatile.

OVERALL OPINION

It's going to be ending for 10 months I have and I can not get enough, I sold it can be a Flextone III, or Vetta, but I must test it first.
Well apart from this problem of noise, nothing to say, recently I squenceur pilot with nothing to say works great for MIDI, my sounds on their own during the exchange squence, super convenient to record all at once.
The ratio quality price is right, even if it is not given even when (about 1700 the head and add another 600 for a 4 * 12 cabinet of good quality)
I have long hsit before taking an amp like this, because I swore by the lamps, I also cracked on a carvin head lamps trs rare and that sounded great but eventually the connection + for MIDI and the versatile sounds made my choice and this MODEL I do not regret my choice because it is really a bomb!

These guys seem to continue to pump out modeling amps. Line 6 is a money making outfit. They have successfully taken over the amp modeling world. They have found a good niche in the music gear market and taken pretty much over the modeling stuff. They are a great company and make some fantastic products. I just cannot get into this amp modeling world.

You cannot make a digital preset sound like a Bogner XTC or Mesa Boogie Dual Rectifier. No amount of processing power can recreate those tones. It simply cannot be done. I have played almost every type of unit that has come out by Line 6 and i always like their stompbox effects and there PODs for effects purposes but their amp modeling is just terrible. It is unnatural and just purely processed sounds.

SOUNDS

The only amp models that I like in this batch are the Soldano, Bogner, and Vox amps. The other ones sound thinner and metallic sounding. The vox amps can take effects well and so the tone is a little bit more tolerated. The Soldano and Bogner have so much gain that is kind of masks that you are playing a digital amp. This amp is one that has the power and versatility of the POD series units but in an amp form. You get basically all that the POD has but you can blast it through their speaker combo. You can't dial the processing out of it but this is a little bit more audibly pleasing. And of course the Mesa Boogies are thicker sounding but still thin in comparison to a real Dual or Triple Rectifier.

OVERALL OPINION

These are relatively more expensive than the spider series but around the same price as the Bogner versions. I would go with the newer ones since they have ramped up their processing power and tone in the new models. These are old technology and don't work in today's modeling standards in my opinion. You can still find these used in places for right around $600.

This valvestate head is pretty great. It has 300 watts handling power. The head has 4, 8, and 16 ohm output options, left and right. It has several amp models to choose from, but the signature line 6 effects sound the best to me. It has xlr outs on the back which include a D.I. out which makes Live sound much more tolerable.

UTILIZATION

It is a pretty simple set up, really. All you have to do is tune to the desired setting. Line 6 sounds amazing to deaf people. Of course, I would really like to have a footswitch with it. Im not sure if they typically come with them or not, but I woudl really make this amp perform better. This head is for anyone who is ready for big sound and good quality.

SOUNDS

There are so many amp modeling choices, it can fit any style of music. I have played several guitars on it: a dime v, a roland fender strat, a cyclone, etc. Each have their own sound of course, but the effects are always the same, pristine. I like to run my MusicMan S.U.B. through it as well. My favorite sounds are the chorus effects and I really appreciate the fact that it combines effects like delay chorus and gain chorus.

OVERALL OPINION

I've had this head for about 3 years and I still havent figured out everything it's capable of. This is mostly because I find something I like and just play for hours on end. I tried a few other brands before this one, I looked at the behrenger v-ampire which had similar effects but the the line 6 was much clearer and it had more effects. It has user presets just the same as the v-ampire. I love that the tap sensor on the head is automated and it dials in your tempo as you play. I think it was well worth the price, and it makes me want to buy a Line 6 guitar because it would probably be the best match for the head. I will report on that when I find out.
