SM Pro Audio Nano Patch

I use an RME Fireface 800 as a sound card.

If the audio interface is a marvel, unfortunately it is not perfect, and among his faults we may deplore the lack of volume knob on the rack to control the monitor making it necessary to adjust the volume output in software, not very practical ...

This means investing in a dedicated solution as proposed by Presonus, SPL, Mackie, etc.. and therefore also SM Pro Audio.

I first purchased a Mackie Big Knob and I was delighted. The machine is beautifully built and the job he is asked without degrading the audio signal (which is most important in this type of device).

Unfortunately, due to financial concerns but also because I did not use the Big Knob for his volume knob, I had to part with it to adopt a cheaper alternative. So I ordered the small Nano Patch for 55 € at Thomann (always as effective in passing).

Well, we are in a different product category and it feels right out! I was expecting something a little bigger and heavier. If its size should suit everyone, I would have preferred a bit more. Similarly low weight that it can tilt back slightly after the four cables connected to his back.

The finish is correct but not extraordinary. All made of metal, it seems pretty robust but I deplore the plastic used on the main button. Its course is quite nice but not very precise: a small "float" to start and stop not very clear. The mute button is a bit "hard" for this type of application but it's really history of complaining. Finally I find his skates under a little too soft which is not to improve its stability once established.

Otherwise, it's perfect work being sought and in this price range can not really blame him much. The sound is not degraded and his side "passive circuit" makes it relatively neutral. I note that even just set to zero, the sound always comes from HP so it's not completely mute but not low enough to be annoying.
Too bad SM Pro Audio has not added also a small switch that allows Sun to attenuate the signal (20 in general), very useful on this type of device and should not be very expensive to do.

I personally would have preferred to put a few euros more for a product a little better built in terms of finish and also largest in terms of size but it will do the job in the meantime!

My rating 8 / 10 takes into account the quality / price ratio!

by a, frankly it does not default (and still has not impede me really), its size REPRESENTATIVES an asset for me (I can put it anywhere without that it takes the place), and it looks solid trs (while mtal).
