The Artist Mix is made by Euphonix and it is a control interface that has motorized faders and all of the buttons and knobs can be programmed to work with your DAW. This control interface is so easy to use, and you can use it on Windows computers and Mac with a very easy set up process for both systems. This interface is on the higher end of the price range but because the sliders are motorized and the interface of the unit is very user friendly makes it worth the money.
This control surface is very portable, it cannot be racked but it does not take up much of your workspace. I have been using it since about 2010 and it has never gave me any problems. All of the motorized faders work great every single time and they are well made. I have never had a single issue with any button or knob on this control interface since the day it came out of the box. There are 63 soft keys and a total of 8 knobs. There is also an input footswitch which I do not use because I just don’t have a use for it. This mixer is surprisingly portable weighing less than 5 pounds, I also have a gig bag that did not come with it but I use it to transport the Artist Mix from place to place just to keep it scratch free.
There are no audio inputs or outputs on this mixer, and it does not connect to your computer from a USB or MIDI cable. It takes a Ethernet connection to sync it up to your computer Mac or PC. The interface and layout of this mixer is what really draws me to it. It is laid out perfectly for my set up and using it with Logic and Cubase has made my workflow so much easier. Only thing that I wish is that it had the start, stop and record function on the bottom center portion of the mixer.

Did you tried many other models before buying it?

I had several non-motorized controllers and without a touch screen but frankly nothing compares in terms of ergonomics. All functions of your music program (Logic Pro for me) are supported and can be accessed via the touchscreen.

The faders and knobs respond to quard turn and are sensitive, as they are affected they tell you the track settings (volume, etc.)


What is so special that you love the most, least?

As:
Everything!! everything is done in order to work correctly and quickly.

The least:
Incompatibility with some programs like FL Studio Presonus or,
although some people are able to operate certain functions of the controller.

How would you rate the quality / price?

Largely correct. I had never occasse nine out of the packaging but I was ready to buy new.

With experience, you do again this choice?

1000% sure ... This is an indispensable tool that allows to save time in composition.

I put 10 not because of incompatibilitées with all programs, but that the méritrait.

Control surface ergonomics study that can be completed by the Euphonix MC mix. Of great versatility it is very pleasant to use. The many and various shortcuts are possible in cubase terribly practical. Access to this interface are designed to make life easier for nontechnical users, I find that on this point Euphonix did a great job for the delight of the musicians.
Macros are simple to make, automation settings is particularly neat and intuitive, even when I make my blond I always find a way to get out alone, and as a big girl please
As with the MC mix, I admit that for the moment I do not use the beast to 100%, but it allows me to work in a simple and effective and why it is great! It is not perfect either, but like the MC mix, it can also work in peace. If like me, you use a control surface at home, in your cozy little nest that also serves as home studio, he must take care not to buy anything but this tool as great as pretty to watch. Now as my husband, if it is for heavy use in a professional is a different story.

What is the particular feature you like best and least?

Plus: It can automate all kinds of macros, key commands, display, etc ... And it's beautiful! The faders are touch and automatiss is wonderful precision. hope everything is configurable!

The least: It does not CONTRL VST Instrument in Cubase ... This feature is only for Logic! The interface to customize all the buttons can not drag and drop a button from one place to another ... it is not practical.

Have you tried many other models before acqurir?
The behringer, a novation remote zero SL.
(Oh and I saw a Dexter run ... and I must say they are even better user interface level, but much more cumbersome and not for my use, for against the config / customization is a breeze , this thing fairly silent magic Premire view anyway)

How do you report qualitprix?
If Cubase is your only squenceur and your goal is to automate your VSTi, and many do not rush it.
If you have Logic: run to the store
If you want to use it to mix or simply to enhance your workflow in sequencer then YES, it's great!

Yes. I also think adding a MC Mix when my wallet will flow again.

I use it for a short month, and I really was not disappointed by this machine, it saves me a lot of time.

The feel of the fader is excellent, it changes the way you listen the sound ... Focusing more on the sound mixer on the screen and mouse ...

The jog buttons and also transport me save much time

I chose this control surface relative to its size .. is it only on the control and no inputs / outputs as some others, but it's good for me in what I needed.

For automation, it's just awesome

Occasionally, I have some small problems in connection with particular situations (such as connecting the logic starts), it does not connect right away, you have to go in implementing EuCon to associate the position work, but hey it takes 5sec is not bad ...

I use it for a year and have produced 2 cd's on using Logic 8 and 9.
This kind of product that makes no sound and is intended to facilitate our life is not given (1,500 Euros if I remember correctly). The MC Control is supposed to recognize each IMMEDIATELY all functions on Logic.
Basically, works very well but with two bugs, not rsolus despite upgrades.

1. I have every chance to plant my Mac if I do not open the machine with the MC Control at the same time. Ie log APRS standby of the computer and / or stained the MC Control is equivalent not to recognize each Mac (or although Logic sr). By insisting I sometimes have to dye plant srieusement and relaunch + MAC. (My machine is precision dedicates audio only, no program "parasites" is open).

2. Both Logic 8 than 9, despite the upgrades, the MC Control will not recognize each function "VLOC in midday despite apparraisse it on screen. We must go into the program and program this function like a progra c'tait Me. With each upgrade, I could repeat the opration.

In this area rsum contrle walk very well (except small bug) ... when it is launched .... CASC was all important functions of the program. Probably too, because some manipulation (eg bounce gnral) should not be effected session can alternately. It is not really necessary.
At the time of ride catches, I enjoy being able to work very quickly with a hand on the mouse and the other on the MC console. It's nice to open a zoom 2X few tracks without clicking the mouse.
