Small and easy reverb with the Lexicon sound
Published on 02/06/12 at 15:48Small digital reverb in 1U rack format, very easy to use but enough for live gigs.
32 effects that can be chosen via a rotary knob: 16 single effects + 16 dual effects.
1 knob to adjust the intensity of the effect.
1 LED lights up when you switch to the factory preset.
UTILIZATION
Very easy to use and intuitive.
It has all the indispensable. For redundant things you can choose a more comprehensive and complex model.
SOUND QUALITY
Its main asset is the flawless Lexicon sound.
I tried other reverbs of other brands, but their sound didn't convince me because it was very artificial, often metallic or imprecise.

This one is perfect for my needs live. I use it to add a touch of reverb to the vocals and guitars, to give them more breadth without the need to worry about having to look for algorithms or any other bizarre things.
And only when the acoustics of the venue itself don't add too much reverb already.
OVERALL OPINION
I've used it for 8 years and see no reason to change it.
Ideal quality and ease of use.See less00 - Robin_frPublished on 12/13/02 at 05:22I use the MPX-100 for vocals. Reverb, echo, delay, hall chamber, possibility to couple certain effects, for example: chorus + delay,
Connections: jack & midi, possibility to link to PC
19-inch rack-mountable, 1U high
UTILIZATION
It couldn't be easier to set.
With the pot on the right you choose the type of effect and with the one on the left the different presets available.
SOUND QUALITY
The sound quality is excellent, it's an amazing value for money.
I use the MPX-100 with a Soundcraft Folio 16 mixer and a Shure SM58 for vocals. The sound is clear and the effects precise.

It's been two years since I have it. I use it to one tenth of its capacities, it is very user-friendly and easy to use.
I don't regret having bought it. Excellent value for money.See less00 - iXtlan23Published on 03/01/04 at 14:5924bit, 44.1Khz stereo multi-effects in 19" rack format.
The MPX-100 is part of the famous MPX Lexicon series and, even if it's an entry level model (in relation to the MPX-5 or MPX-1), it nevertheless inherits the brand's sound and know-how.
1/4" stereo jack, midi in, out/thru, bypass, S/PDIF digital output, bypass button, stereo peak LED (one per channel), tap button to sync to a given tempo.

The program knob allows you to choose different effects, each with 16 programs (selected with the variation control).
Some programs (11 to 16) are dual, so you can use it as two mono processors.
You have the possibility to save 16 programs (single or dual) by pressing "store" at any given moment
In relation to the MPX-550, which is more studio-oriented, the MPX-100 is more adequate for live applications where you need to be able to adjust the parameters quickly (that's the utility of the knobs!)
SOUND QUALITY
LEXICON sound quality, which means the effects are clear and precise, the reverb tails can be easily controlled (less than on a mpx-1) but much more than on any digitech or alesis that sell for the same price point. It can be compared to an M-one in terms of quality and it is much better than a TC Electronics M-300!
OVERALL OPINION
Very good value for money, very fitting for live applications, both for sound engineers and musicians.
Its main asset is the Lexicon sound, obviously.See less00 - moosersPublished on 03/24/09 at 20:02The Lexicon MPX-100 is a multi-effects processor in the form of a piece of rackable outboard gear. SOUND QUALITY
The sound quality on the Lexicon MPX-100 multi-effects processor is pretty good. Almost all of the effects are usable and it is nice to have all of these different effects within one unit. I like the reverb and modulation effects the best, but all of them are useful. I have used these effects on all types of instruments, including electric guitar, keyboards, drums, and vocals. The sound quality is what I have come to expect from Lexicon, even in lower end products like the Lexicon MPX-100.
OVERALL OPINION
I've been using the Lexicon MPX-100 multi-effects processor for about four or fives years. I have found it to be a great option for those looking for a piece of outboard gear that has a lot of different effects in one, at a really cheap price. While there are a lot of options out there that are similar to this unit, this is quite cheap from a company that I trust to make good products. Overall, a great option for home studio owners looking for a cheap multi-effects processor.See less20
