Connection level, I emphasize BIG default this pedal: No external power can ... it will settle for a good old 9V battery (not supplied even !!!) or a 9V AC adapter connection, which is far from being practical and particulirement inesthtique ... more trap to reach the battery is very accessible, but fairly cheap (plastic) and no LEDs showing operation is Introduced on the beast ... yet we can not say that there is no room on the facade!

The food, and the power door but share has rarely have I seen such a large pedal by its sobriety and finish (100% Mtal not with plastic knobs like on some pedals that price ...).
I forgot ... no markers on super knobs which I am the lodge, then to view its rglages is zero points ...

7/10 because I put the pedal in it even inspires solidity and reliability despite some major flaws ...

USE

The configuration is unlike appearance (2 knobs) very fine, and rigorous. SOUND QUALITY

As I said, one 2 Volume and Fuzz knobs ... but the most important is the volume of your guitar!
So it is simply necessary to have a decent guitar (I play on a telecaster Mex up with a dual single-coil Di Marzo corner which I no longer have the name in the bridge position ... and I put myself on the intermediary position to play with two microphones.) NOTICE GLOBAL

I use it for 1 week, and I had moments of hesitation ...
First, I got hooked on the costing, and I order a hit on head ...
In the receiving, I had the feeling of having done a bit m'tre because I found the sound very limited until I use it on a crunch channel and varying the volume of my guitar. Since I am in awe!

I do not like the nonexistent external power and the absence of diode which I believe are essential.

I possd a Zvex Fuzz Factory home that has similar that the name "FUZZ"
In my fuzz factory is a pedal of bourin and I advise all fans of Muse and power pop. As against the octavio is for the players, I think looking for a grain and a heat to have its own sound (and not that of Bellamy!).

The price quality ratio is probably not justified ... but that's life!

With experience, I do it again this choice, but I try to take my time to find Cygnus ... because, true to say, I have not been able to wait ^ _ ^

The objective is to have a more dirty sound possible, it succeeded.

UTILIZATION

Ultra simple setup, In / Out - 2 knobs (Fuzz / Octave) - 1 true bypass

The manual is useless if not do not forget to unplug the jack IN in order not to swell the pile budget.

Although the config is simple, find the sound is another matter: a small experience of Fuzz / heavy distortion is preferable.

For me it is all thoroughly, because otherwise it does not sound, or else it gets complicated because you have to manage the knob of the guitar + knob pedal, drive the amp ..: Unmanageable live!

SOUND QUALITY

I use it for a year, occasionally.
I have a FuzzFace and since I do not use any more, it's pretty similar.

I love the fact that it is vintage, simple and soundness of the machine and connectors

I do not like the lack of LED and value for money.

UTILIZATION

OVERALL OPINION

It's been 15 days I have. This is not the kind of effect that often uses the sound is too specific.
The price / quality ratio, it feels a little blouse. The pedal is a faithful reproduction of the original. The manufacturer is expected that the patent falls into the public domain, made the pedal with the same simplicity that at the time, with technology of the time. This gives an altogether extraordinary pedal unusable correctly in our time.
Indeed, this pedal is a nightmare to use and the fault list is impressive:
- No external power
- The volume knob goes up to the cut (below zero, there is a switch) not reported on the record.
- Inability to integrate it into a rack due to the absence of external power. Obligation to unplug the jack to keep the battery which must be replaced from time to time and will require the removal of the pedal rack.
- Lack of reference on the knobs, so unable to save a setting of some sort.
- Its size exaggerated (for what's inside!)

In short, to summarize, although the sound is there and there, you feel a little pigeon anyway. At that price, I would have preferred a more compact pedal, the more current and more practical design. We feel that Dunlop has exploited the side fetish guitar before thinking musicians, like most of the pedals produced under the label Hendrix after 40 years of operation we can be more profitable.

UTILIZATION

Extremely simple to use. Requires only a few ears to get the right setting. No need for manual

SOUND QUALITY

Fuzz + octave hendrix (band of gypsies) in all its splendor, with a huge palette of sounds. Request to tamper a bit, the pots and fuzz level interact heavily on the presence and texture of the octave. The higher the fuzz, the lower the octaves are present.

Like any good fuzz-octave audio nirvana is reached on the neck pickup, playing with the volume of the guitar and especially with the tone (an octave better spring greatly lowering the treble).

Octave very responsive to the dynamics of the attack (on good guitars, anyway)

Fuzz side, it's going good and bold vintage overdrive to destroy sound rule.

At bottom, it goes without saying that it blows a good bit but that breath is so far below the output level of this pedal it goes unnoticed as you play.

Best used on a good tube amp, the limit of the crunch.

OVERALL OPINION

Excellent pedal, a very good sound easy to find as long as they're used properly. Driven to the former: although hot lamps, pots control volume and tone of the guitar, octave, which is activated to attack the pick.

A fuzz-octave does not play all the settings tab, it's subtle and it involves touch. Quite the opposite of Big Muff and other metal zone. But, in fact, to quote the previous review, it may well spoil the sound, it all depends on the use made of it!

Ultra-Flexible but not for those looking for a band of its type gypsies, she is on top.

In short, if Dunlop will pay our mind is on marketing and price but certainly not the sound. So if possible to find secondhand and cheaper, which was my case.
