The thing I like least is that with or without the muffling ring the head gives the most dead toneless thud. You could actually use a wooden box rather than a bass drum and get the same sound. This is actually what alot of people are going for especially with mic'ed up hard rock/metal gigs so I can understand the popularity of this drumhead.
So it is a 10 for that kind of stuff 0 for other styles in my opinion, hence 5 overall, not that is particularly fair because it is a style specific head.
The sound is very punchy with a very acute attack I would say.
The sound is short but not so much that we could not believe and leaves a bit to continue the sound of the acute attack. Strange for a bass drum sound I think.
The sound is very specific therefore ideal for playing double pedal fast enough (death, black ...)
on the other hand for style musical roundness and we need serious, AC might be complicated.
Personally, I switched to the ADEM because I needed more bass and roundness, I loved the incredible attack of ADEM's 2, but not playing in a style where I needed a hyper-accurate kick drum, I preferred to change.
PS: for those who notes rating on the material: if it is to say "it's crap" ... do not notice anything because you do not understand.
